Industry Minister Melanie Joly has sent yet another letter to Stelco saying the company has not provided enough information to prove they are compliant with their 2024 deal with Ottawa, including employment undertakings after the layoffs in Hamilton.
“The interim report repeatedly asserts compliance with the undertakings and, in several instances, provides only conclusory statements in support of that position. Assertions of compliance are not a substitute for the information and evidence necessary to establish compliance.” #cdnpoli

My Bill C-293, the Safe at Home Act, would make violent home invasion a distinct criminal offence, with tougher penalties including a five-year mandatory minimum sentence, a maximum life sentence, and reverse-onus bail.
It’s time our laws recognize the severity of these crimes and hold violent offenders accountable.

Labour Force Participation hits a 29 year low. A smaller % of the population is working than at any time in the last 29 years.
People aren't just losing jobs. More and more are dropping out of the labour force entirely.
