What's the craziest culture shock you've ever experienced as a traveler within your country or outside your country?

When Emeka and his wife finally secured their relocation documents to the UK, their joy knew no bounds. They had two children, aged 15 and 17, whom they decided to leave behind temporarily with their grandmother.
We will bring you over as soon as we settle down, their father promised.
Initially, everything went smoothly. They sent money for feeding, school expenses and other necessities. They also called regularly.
But six months turned into one year, and one year became almost two. The children gradually became used to celebrating birthdays, Christmas and school achievements without their parents.
One evening, their 17-year-old daughter called her mother.
Mummy, when are you coming to see us? I miss you.

Straight talk on Canada’s new tax rules from Budget 2026.
Here’s what newcomers actually need to know. Rates did not go up. The changes are mostly about making life simpler.
Tax residency starts the day you put down real roots, a place you rent, your spouse or kids with you, clear plans to stay. That is usually your arrival day. From then on you report all your income from anywhere, converted to Canadian dollars. Immigration papers and tax status are not the same thing.
Starting with the 2027 tax year, everyone files and pays by May 15. No more April 30 for employees and June 15 for self-employed. One date for all.
You can get money before you even file your first return. Apply for the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (the old GST credit) as soon as you land. There is also a one-time 50% top-up coming early 2027. Low-income workers get a bigger Build Canada Workers Benefit from 2027 too. The Canada Caregiver Credit becomes refundable, so you get cash even if you pay little or no tax.
The instalment threshold jumps from $3,000 to $7,500. Fewer people will be forced to pay taxes every quarter in advance. Foreign property reporting threshold doubles to $200,000, so less paperwork if what you left behind is modest.
File even if you made almost nothing in year one. That is how benefits keep coming. Always check the latest on the CRA site because details can still change.
Landing soon and stuck on something specific? Reply or DM. Straight talk only. 🇨🇦

I am blessed, favoured and highly lifted by God.
I walk in divine protection, wisdom, good health and abundance.
No weapon formed against me shall prosper.
My family is blessed, my marriage is covered, and my dreams shall become testimonies.
I am a winner, not a victim.
My tomorrow is greater than today. In Jesus name, Amen! 🙏❤️
Democrats’ midterm victory and their stance on AI have sent shockwaves through Wall Street. AI-related stocks are taking a beating, with around $1.8 trillion in Nasdaq 100 market value at risk. 🇺🇸
Over $1,000,000,000,000 wiped out of the US 🇺🇸 stock markets in less than 1 hour. @grok why?

This is the best opportunity for those looking for fully funded scholarships.
Good luck!!!
Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Portugal, France and Japan - they offer fully funded scholarships
I spent my entire day working on this. Here are 300+ universities offering fully funded Master’s scholarships for 2027.
In this drive, you’ll find universities offering:
• Fully funded scholarships without IELTS requirements, where officially permitted.
• Fully funded scholarships accepting Third Class or Second Class Lower degrees, where applicable.
• Fully funded scholarships that accept applicants without extensive work experience.
I put this together to help more people discover Master’s opportunities they can apply for in 2026 - 2027.

These U17 girls are supposed to be locked in for a FINAL, yet they’ve been all over TikTok the whole day.
Super Falcons coming to show support is one thing. Going live with a streamer right before the biggest match of their lives is pure unseriousness.
Focus? Concentration? Discipline?
Nigeria will never stop looking unorganised when it matters most.
This is why we keep failing at the highest level.
