Its release day. Gemini 3.6 Flash
- It's cheaper than Gemini 3.5 Flash ($7.50 output instead of $9.00 output).
- It outperforms Gemini 3.1 Pro in almost every benchmark.
It's being compared to GPT-5.6 Luna and Sonnet 5. Priced between these two models, it generally performs better.
So, it's a solid mid-tier release.

I've been selling software for 15 years now. I've never seen as much "market pull" before as I'm seeing now. For the AI sr software engineer, we've built. CTOs are truly mind blown.
Few insights that actually surprise me:
- The most fwd leaning CTOs actually build an internal cloud coding agent. And also that we're able to replace it.
- I took ~20 calls last week, with folks who reached out from my earlier tweet. Not one has said no. 5 are using it everyday. Rest are in various stages. This is not normal. For most it's obv that this is the future.
- There's an open and a massive diff between engg now in cos (easily 10x) in LOC checked in. In this new world, you're worth as much as the parallel tasks u can handle.
Are you a funded startup under 30 employees? Do you have a backlog that you are not able to ship? Me and my team will work for you and try to ship your backlog for the next week using our latest sr software engg tool. It’s completely free for you — you just need to give us time, feedback and all the access you give to a new engg hire. Reply back to this thread and I’ll schedule a time with you, if it’s a good fit. I was ranked no 1 engg in india in programming contests and was cto of Rippling. But the models of course have become better than me these days.
Eric Schmidt says the 10x advantage is no longer execution. It is defining what counts as success.
A programmer writes a spec and an evaluation function, runs it at 7pm, and wakes up to what was invented overnight.
The advantage now belongs to whoever can specify the problem precisely.
The rest will be automated.

Meta's infrastructure. India's best builders. 48 hours. This is India's biggest agentic RL hackathon.
OpenEnv is the new open standard to train AI agents, used by PyTorch, AI at Meta, and Hugging Face
In April, India's best builders get to build on it and have their work reviewed by Meta and HF engineering teams.
Meta PyTorch OpenEnv Hackathon × Scaler School of Technology.
The best environments get evaluated for inclusion in the OpenEnv global ecosystem.

Software Engineering Expectations for 2026
- The majority of your code should be written by AI now
- Cursor/Codex/Claude Code/Gemini/etc
- You should try all the tooling and switch between them, as each one gets an edge over the others depending on the release cycle.
- You should be using AI to check the code that is written by AI
- Have AI write tests
- Have AI read logs
- Have AI navigate your browser
- I don't do this every time because sometimes it's simple enough to check it myself
- You should still skim code changes
- This can be a lighter skim on internal tools and a heavier read through on customer facing code
- Use AI to help you define specs

2/ Now let’s see Simular Pro in action.
Launch week is hectic - and my kid wants a Labubu for her birthday. So I asked Simular Pro to compare listings and rank them. Within minutes, I got 30 legit ones - prices, links, selling points, all in a spreadsheet. Saved me hours.

1/ Wait, Bigfoot figured out how to run a startup without drowning in multitasking 👀
It found 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼, the world’s first production-grade, computer-use agent that runs thousands of steps without a hiccup - working 24/7 so he didn’t have to.
So how does Simular Pro work?
Most agents use LLMs - great explorers, but flaky when # steps grows; RPAs are stable but rigid. Simular Pro uses 2 agents, maximizing generality & repeatability:
- Neural: explores
- Symbolic: executes
Every action is editable, deterministic code.
