My gambling addiction didn’t start with losing… it started with winning. A $117,000 first-TD parlay turned into almost $450,000 in a month. I thought I was untouchable… buying gifts for everyone, covering every dinner, buying whole bars shots… I always made sure everyone else was good.
But I wasn’t.
When the winning stopped, I didn’t. I chased everything. And at night, while everyone I loved slept, I’d lie in the dark with my phone lighting up my face… losing money I didn’t have, feeling myself slowly disappear.
The worst part wasn’t the money… it was who I became. Lying to everyone. Lying to myself. Smiling in public while I was destroying my life in private… losing the trust of the people who loved me most.
Every night I’d say, “I’m done.”
Every morning I’d wake up and check the lines before I checked on the people I loved…a spouse, a sick parent, a newborn child.
That’s a kind of sadness I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
If you’re living like that… hiding, hurting, exhausted… I see you. I was you and you are me. My DMs are open. You don’t have to go through this alone.

If I started hosting online Gamblers Anonymous meetings, with open discussions, questions and answers, and a place for people to connect with others who understand what they’re going through, would you be interested in joining?
What days/times would work best for you?
I know how lonely this addiction can feel. I also know what it’s like to think you’ll never get your life back. But you can.
Whether you’re actively gambling or trying to stop or simply looking for someone to talk to, my DMs are open.
If there’s any way I can help, please reach out. You don’t have to figure this out alone. You can get your life back. One day at a time.

Don’t gamble on the night game tonight.
You may have just gotten paid. Don’t give that entire paycheck right back to the sportsbooks. I know how tempting it can be especially when you think one win will put you ahead.
You don’t have to chase yesterday’s losses. My DMs are always open. You don’t have to fight this alone.

If you’re betting on elections, temperatures, plane crashes, crypto or anything else you can possibly turn into a wager…it might be time to take a step back and seek help.
Fortunately for me, this all started becoming mainstream right around the time I was cleaning up my own life.
IT IS ALL GAMBLING.
It doesn’t matter what the market is, how you justify it, or how intelligent you think your bets are. If you’re compulsively wagering…the problem doesn’t change just because the product does.
Please be smart, protect yourselves, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. My DMs are always open. I’m here for you, my friends.

There are games on every minute of every day and I took full advantage of it.
During work, I’d be watching the 11 AM college basketball game, then switch over to women’s college basketball for the first quarter or half, just trying to chase my losses…Next thing I knew it was 2 AM and I was still awake watching Hawaii, hoping to hit one last underdog and somehow save the day.
Even when that final bet hit, it was never enough. I’d go straight to the online casino and gamble whatever money I had left. Rinse and repeat…
That’s what this sickness does to you. It consumes your time, money, relationships, and eventually your entire life.
Today, I get to be part of the miracle. I get to enjoy life without constantly chasing the next game or the next bet. Be part of the miracle. Join the winning team in recovery. My DM’s are open.

Saw that you can now bet on player props in college hoops.
There are going to be kids putting their careers, teammates, and entire programs at risk because of their own gambling habits. When addiction takes over, people become willing to do things they never thought they would, especially when they’re desperate to get money back or hide how bad things have gotten..
I wouldn’t be surprised if we see multiple major NCAA Division I players investigated or suspended this year.
And I say that because I’ve seen firsthand how far gambling addiction can take someone.
Please be smart. Protect your money, protect your future, and don’t underestimate how dangerous this stuff can become. My DM’s are open.

I just celebrated 10 months without gambling.
There is no graduation date in recovery, but there are milestones and I’m damn proud of this one.
I’ve come a long way, especially as a human being. I’m no longer the person I was when gambling consumed my life.
If you’re struggling, please reach out. You can get help. I know what it’s like to want to die every single day and to be okay with not waking up the next morning.
That life is behind me and I’m incredibly grateful to still be here.
You don’t have to fight this alone. My DMs are always open. One day at a time.

Friday is payday.
I would promise myself I wasn’t going to gamble my paycheck away that week. Sometimes I’d start with $50. Other times, I’d put the entire paycheck on one bet.
Even when I won, I’d gamble it all away. The bills went unpaid. The bookie went unpaid. The friend who loaned me $100 went unpaid. Eventually…I lost more than money. I lost relationships, trust, time, and everyone who mattered to me.
I was trapped in a cycle where it didn’t matter whether I won or lost. I always ended up with nothing.
Please don’t gamble this weekend. Just one weekend. Give yourself a chance to break the cycle. You have no idea how much of your life is waiting on the other side of that last bet.
My DM’s are always open. Reach out.

300 days without gambling. ❤️
I’m no longer constantly irritable. I’m present. I’m intentional. I take the time to genuinely listen to my family and friends instead of being physically there but mentally somewhere else.
For the first time in a long time, I’m no longer living a lie…
When I was in the throes of my gambling addiction, I lied about everything. Hiding the truth was easier than facing it. I became someone who kept secrets from the people I loved most, all to protect an addiction that was taking everything from me.
I missed out on moments. I missed out on birthdays. I missed out on kids sporting events. So missed out on petting my dog…I wasn’t truly present.
Recovery gave me my life back. It gave me the ability to show up, to be honest, to listen, and to love the people around me the way they deserve to be loved.
If you’re struggling, please know you don’t have to keep living that double life. You don’t have to keep hiding, lying, or fighting this alone. Reach out. My DMs are always open.

Feels good watching playoff baseball without betting $5,000 every couple of seconds on props.
Man, that was hell…Hiding how bad it really was. Acting like everything was fine while chasing losses, lying to the people I love, and carrying around a shame nobody could see. Living a double life is exhausting.
Today, I can just enjoy the game for what it is.
Every single day, I thank God for recovery and the fellowship that has helped me get my life back. There’s a whole different way to live on the other side of this.
Reach out. My DM’s are open.

Did you just lose your paycheck on Monday Night Football? You’re about to work this entire week for free again.
Maybe you’re angry at the game, distant with your family, or pretending everything is fine while they have no idea what’s going on.
You don’t have to live a double life anymore…
Monday nights used to make or break my week. Mostly break it…even when I won, the money never lasted, the high never stayed and I always ended up chasing the next one.
You can join the winning team in recovery. My DMs are open.

Gambling ads are being shoved in our faces more than ever. What a joke.
We can’t watch a basketball game without being marketed another way to gamble. This stuff is becoming so normalized that people don’t even question it anymore.
Meanwhile…people are losing their paychecks, draining their savings, destroying relationships, and silently suffering from gambling addiction.
I lived it. I know how hard it is to escape when gambling is everywhere you look. At some point, you have to ask yourself what all of this is really costing you.
Get away from the evil while you can folks. There is so much more to life than gambling.
You can join the winning team in recovery. If you’re struggling, my DMs are open. You don’t have to do this alone.

National Tight End Day used to have me betting like a degenerate.
Today, I can look through my camera roll and smile at how far I’ve come. Not just financially…but as a person.
I used to watch my bank account hit $0 after every paycheck because I impulsively gambled the money away AGAIN, even after promising myself I wouldn’t. The shame, the lies, the constant cycle of chasing losses…
You don’t have to live paycheck to paycheck because of gambling. You don’t have to keep chasing. You don’t have to keep living in shame.
There are better days ahead. Recovery is possible. You are not alone. My DMs are always open!

College football is on today. Instead of gambling on the games, get outside and go on a hike!
Try something new. Find a new hobby. Spend time with people you love.
When you stop gambling, you realize just how much time you get back. There’s a whole life waiting for you outside the next bet. Go live it…My DM’s are open!

A man falls into a deep hole. The walls are too steep to climb out.
A doctor walks by…The man begs for help. The doctor writes a prescription, throws it down, and leaves.
A priest walks by…The man begs for help. The priest offers a prayer and moves on.
Then I walk by.
“Blaise, it’s me! Can you help me?”
I jump into the hole.
“Are you stupid? Now we’re both stuck down here!”
I reply, “Yeah, but I’ve been down here before, and I know the way out.”
I’ve been down there. I know the shame, the desperation, the lies, the chase, the sleepless nights, and the feeling that you’ve ruined your life because of gambling.
But I’ve also learned there’s a way out.
If you’re struggling, please reach out. You are not alone. Your life is worth more than your losses and your story isn’t over. I’ve been there before. Let me help you find the way out. My DM’s are open.

If you’ve never been to a GA meeting, please don’t be afraid to walk through those doors. I know that’s easier said than done because I was terrified myself…
The first time I tried to go to a Gamblers Anonymous meeting, I sat in the parking lot and never walked inside. I wish I had found the courage to walk through those doors sooner.
Today, GA and the fellowship have truly saved my life.
It’s a room full of love, hope, understanding, and people who know exactly what you’re going through.
When we’re in the throes of compulsive gambling, it can feel like we’re surrounded by darkness. We can be sitting in a room full of people who love us and still feel completely alone. We lose hope because we can’t see a way out of the hole we’ve created for ourselves.
If you’re struggling today, please walk into your first GA meeting. You don’t need to have everything figured out. You don’t need to have the perfect words. You don’t even need to know what to expect.
Just walk through the door…You might be surprised by the love and hope waiting on the other side.
Keep coming back. It works if you work it. One day at a time. My DMs are always open if you need someone to talk to.

Today, I had a thought about gambling.
I caught myself, “I wonder what the line is on the Sixers game tonight?”
I’m a Philly guy. I love my sports. And just like that…my mind started going down a familiar road.
Everyone in my life knows I’m a compulsive gambler. I’m open about my addiction and I’ve put safeguards in place to protect my recovery. Even when a thought pops into my head, I don’t have to act on it.
I’m human. We all have thoughts and urges. Recovery doesn’t mean those thoughts will never come back. It means learning how to respond differently when they do.
So today, I’m taking a deep breath and reminding myself to take it one day at a time. My recovery is too important to gamble with.
Gambling almost took my life and I refuse to let it take me back to that place.
As we head into another season of sports, ask yourself: What are YOU going to do differently to protect your recovery?
What roadblocks can you put in place today? Who can you be honest with? What changes can you make before that next urge hits?
One day at a time. One choice at a time. If you’re struggling, my DMs are always open. You don’t have to fight this alone.

May be a crazy take, but I believe 12 step programs should be taught in school.
Not because everyone is an addict…but because everyone can benefit from learning accountability, honesty, humility, forgiveness, and how to ask for help.
The 12 steps have been one of the greatest gifts of my life. They’ve taught me how to really live, not just how to stop gambling…
We spend so much time teaching people how to make a living. We should spend more time teaching people how to live.
Don’t wait until your life becomes unmanageable to start working on yourself. You don’t have to hit rock bottom to start climbing.
My DM’s are open. Reach out if you need help. One day at a time.

At the West Virginia game today. 🏈
Gambling free.
This time last year, I was gambling tens of thousands of dollars live on games like this. I couldn’t just watch a football game. I had to have action…
Today I get to enjoy a game in person, on my own, without a single bet.
Wow. The freedom is hard to put into words. I’m grateful to be here and actually be present.
If gambling has a hold on you, reach out. You don’t have to do this alone. ❤️

You must break the pattern today or the loop will begin again tomorrow.
That’s how gambling gets you.
It has you by the goodies until you break the pattern. You lose, chase. You win, keep going. You swear you’re done then find yourself right back where you started. Every time, you tell yourself tomorrow will be different.
But tomorrow becomes next week, next month, and another year of your life gone.
I couldn’t think my way out of this. I couldn’t win my way out of it. And I couldn’t make a deal with myself that I’d only gamble a little.
I had to break the pattern.
For me, that meant admitting I was powerless over gambling, getting into GA, being honest, and taking action today instead of waiting until tomorrow.
You don’t have to fix the rest of your life today…you just have to stop feeding the cycle today.Because every day you gamble, the loop gets another chance to restart.
Reach out if you’re struggling. My DM’s are open.

Today, I’m 21 months sober from drugs and alcohol. ❤️
I’m a degenerate in everything I do, so I have to work just as hard at recovery as I did at destroying myself.
My program is only as good as my practice TODAY.
Life isn’t perfect, but it’s a hell of a lot better. Recovery hasn’t magically fixed all my problems but it’s taught me how to face them without running to drugs or alcohol.
Progress in recovery depends on my attitude and my attitude is up to me. I can’t control everything that happens to me but I can control how I respond.
I used to rely on substances to escape how I felt about myself. Today, I’m learning to live life on life’s terms.
I don’t have to be perfect. I just have to keep showing up, practicing the program, and taking it one day at a time.
If you’re struggling, you don’t have to do this alone. My DMs are open.
