This one hurts. Cancer sucks and takes too many too young.
With great sadness, we share that Ryne Sandberg has passed away today.

It is funny how React Devs talk about server side rendering like they invented it. Sorry React Bros, we were rocking this approach in the 1990s. Some of us were even crazy enough to use XSLT to render server side HTML.

Is anyone else old enough to remember when C# codename was COOL? I was there in the beginning when MS changed the world.

Nothing makes you appreciate the stability and majority of .Net Core/C#. Until you spend most of day dealing with node.js and npm "fun".

C# has evolved into a hybrid language. There are lots of interesting ways to do functional concepts mixed with OOP. The real power is the tooling and eco system. Working with node.js and npm is madness.

I used to call this the Javascript soup. It was worse before the days of ES6 when you had to add half dozen utility libraries.

I think the biggest downside of JS is not the language itself (and that’s a high bar to get over) but the actual volatility of its ecosystem. You have approx 17 billion* ways to build a project and the all are somehow faulty. *couple more were added while I was tweeting that

The issue with TDD is most developers don't have the discipline to do it right. Curious what would you recommend?

Yes we need this kind of mindset today.
The one constant through the years has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. Its been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again But baseball has marked time. It reminds us of all that once was good, and what could be again. -Field of Dreams
