The state government has announced a new national park located near Burra in South Australia’s mid-north. Horsnell Gully Conservation Park in the Adelaide foothills has increased up almost 70% to 93 hectares thanks to the donation of Stonyfell Quarry land. There has also been a recent 18sq km expansion of the Seal Bay Sanctuary Zone off Kangaroo Island to help protect endangered Australian sea lions.
