Just on this Carrick stuff. Barring Daniel Farke, has a manager ever survived when club sources have had to confirm that they’re not sacking the manager? The writing is on the wall as soon as replacement rumours arrive almost every time

The 2026 Ballon d'Or is in London tonight, but there won't be the same PL dominance in the top 10 that we've seen before. For the first time since 2017, just one PL player is expected to rank inside the top 10, raising an interesting conversation. tcunningham.substack.com/p/h…

9 - Florian Wirtz's nine chances created from open play against Brentford is the most by a player in a Premier League game since Sadio Mané v Burnley in January 2021 (9) and the most by a player in an away game since Samir Nasri v Spurs in August 2011 (10). Progress.

Just, for a moment, consider that Man City were found innocent by the panel & the Premier League then appealed - would Micah be saying hang on, we're not innocent yet, there's an appeal.....???
Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards disagree over what Manchester City’s guilty verdict means while the club’s appeal remains unresolved. Jamie Carragher: “They’re guilty. They’ve been found guilty. What’s the point of a court?” Micah Richards: “But there’s an appeal. I don’t want to cut you off, but then we have to be adults about it.” Carragher’s position is that City must accept the punishment if they lose their appeal. Richards, meanwhile, insists the appeal process matters. The distinction is between the commission’s findings and the final outcome of the appeal. The verdict has been delivered, but the legal process is not necessarily over. For Carragher, a verdict must carry weight. For Richards, the appeal must be allowed to run its course. ft. @Carra23 , @MicahRichards via CBS Sports Golazo (YT)

Hello @Deliveroo. Please stop encouraging your delivery partners to staple their bags for food. It is dangerous. I have just cut myself, and now I am in A and E as I am scared of sepsis.

Yes I remember, I contacted you to say I appreciated your support, you then tried to get me on your tv show to talk about it, so my appreciation waned a bit as I knew it wasn’t as sincere as I first thought. It was all about an interview, as is your possessive fawning over Ronaldo & Trump. I also wouldn’t be getting personal with your history or the other two you’re defending, now that would be defending the indefensible.

Not sad at all. He’s building a new person, and it’s clear football has left him, like it has so many before him. He hasn’t found his identity after football yet. he’s trying to find it. Let him be.
