The Thunder are allowed to apply for a Disabled Player Exception for both players. However, the physician designated by the NBA has to determine if either player will be out until June 15. Despite being over the first apron (they can also exceed Apron 2), OKC is allowed to use the DPE and 3 trade exceptions.

Unless OKC cashes in those trade assets. They’ve got a lot of em. And good young players other teams want. Topic and Sober go in any trade. If Presti is really shrewd, he trades J Dub, cuts that tax bill, and gets a win-now player.
