wake up call day 1 is almost worse than players only meeting
"This is definitely a wakeup call for us. I'm glad it happened early."
Devin Booker after Suns 124-83 loss to Blazers as they trailed by 31 at the end of one.
"Everything went wrong. We have a lot to learn from the tape offensively and defensively. I think they were killing us with their pace, forcing us into tough shots. Playing the deep drop. We knew it coming, but I think their guards did a good job of being active on the ball handler and forcing us into just being hesitant."
Booker 23 points, didn't attempt a 3 (minus-43): "You can always do everything better in a loss like that. Trying to find the flow. We have some work to do and we have some things to learn from." #Suns #RipCity

1st week of the season is always the most underrated. Especially if u a team trying to contend.
Ppl forget that these games count and is 1 less game on the schedule. When u a half game out of home court but u blew a 30 pt lead opening night thats the stuff that hurts.

Darius Garland on Kris Dunn:
“That’s my dawg. That’s like big bro for real. That’s my big brother man. It’s cool being out there sharing the floor with him. We play off each other really well. He’s a dog. I can’t say what I want to say on camera but that’s my dawg for real.”

Brook Lopez on Darius Garland:
“He’s our leader. Our best player. Everything starts with him. He’s been so great. It’s atypical for a player of his caliber to be here in August, September, that early in the offseason. He set the tone from the get go. It didn’t surprise me one bit the way he came out tonight. I know he’s gonna do that each and every game the whole season.”
