“It’s a market of stocks not a stock market.”
Value stocks (+24%) are now outperforming Growth stocks (-6%) by over 30 percentage points in 2026. If that holds, it would be a record spread, even wider than what occurred in 2000 when the Dot-Com Bubble burst. Is this the beginning of a major shift in market leadership?

New federal filings show that the Chicago Teachers Union spent less than 19% of its 2026 budget teacher representation. Instead of making support for members its top financial priority, @CTULocal1 spent nearly $3 million on political activities and paid 50 union staffers more than $100,000, which included @stacydavisgates' compensation of more than $300,000. illinoispolicy.org/19-ctu-sp…

When poor leadership goes amiss
🚨🇺🇸 From Melania stopping the immigration crackdown to advisers warning the Iran war would cost the midterms, here’s what really happened inside the White House before Tuesday’s disaster... The first lady's complaints led the president to tell aides that Stephen Miller had "gone too far," and that was just one of the decisions the Journal traces. Other details from inside the White House: -Advisers warned him in the spring the Iran war could cost the midterms; he said there was "plenty of time," and privately asked even junior staffers at photo ops whether he should change course -Told aides polls on affordability were "fake," and reminded them he won 2016 without commissioning any -Said at times he "didn't care about the midterms at all" and was tired of domestic issues he saw as smaller than foreign policy and his legacy -Thune got off the phone six times believing he'd talked Trump out of endorsing Paxton; Trump backed him anyway, then complained about his candidacy -Trump pushed stronger Republican candidates out of Senate races in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Texas; Democrats won all four -Brian Kemp turned down a Senate run after Trump called him "disloyal" at a rally -Cabinet officials told oil executives in March the war would end by April; Trump was "shocked" to learn the military was short on munitions and cut a Russian fuel deal to get prices down -Focus groups kept bringing up the ballroom and the arch unprompted: "It seems like he wants to put his name on everything" Advisers warned about the war, the polls warned about prices, and focus groups kept bringing up the ballroom... but the final speech before the election was about algae in the Reflecting Pool. For a party now facing a Democratic House and Senate, the lesson is pretty simple: next time someone says “plenty of time,” check the calendar... Source: WSJ / Writer: Daniel

Chicago Teachers Union President Stacy Davis Gates is now claiming Hilario Dominguez’s 18-point loss was the result of outside spending “rigging the results” in the race for board president. This comes less than 24 hours after Gates invoked the threat of a teachers strike. This kind of rhetoric should be called out for what it is. The Chicago Teachers Union’s political leadership is refusing to accept the results of this election.
Just minutes after losing the school board presidency and a board majority last night, Chicago Teachers Union President Stacy Davis Gates was already invoking the threat of a teachers strike: “We also know how to walk a picket line.” Among the 10 largest school districts in the country, teacher strikes are only legal in two: Chicago Public Schools and the Los Angeles Unified School District. The union has walked out on students five times in the last 14 years.

The Chicago Teachers Union will end the night without a school-board majority. For the first time in Chicago history, the schools will not be governed by the mayor’s hand. That comes despite three huge structural advantages for the union in these races: 1. Most incumbents in competitive races (8) were chosen by CTU via 2024 election or appointment via Johnson 2. CTU drew the district maps. 3. The union collects $40M a year, only 17 cents of which is spent on teacher representation. The rest is spent on administration, overhead, politics, etc. This machine infrastructure does not show up in official campaign reporting.

North Korea stole $6.3 billion from Binance by inviting one of its engineers to a job interview at a company that didn't exist. And the guy didn't even have access to the money. It took them five months and two separate hacks to pull this off. Back in June, an engineer on Binance's wallet team went looking for an AI tool and installed a tampered Homebrew package. Binance caught it, swapped the laptop and reset the passwords. Problem solved, they figured. Except by then the attackers already knew who worked on that team and what each person did. So they went recruiting. In September a different Binance engineer got a message on a real job site from someone calling himself a project director. First round was a video call with a fake HR person, who even shared a social media account full of personal photos so the whole thing felt legit. Second round was with the "CEO," who told him to download a coding assignment onto his work computer. It was loaded with malware nobody had seen before, and Binance's security software missed it completely. Then they waited. On October 20 they used his laptop plus one of Binance's own internal AI tools to get onto two wallet engineers' computers, and one of those engineers had permission to spin up new code on Binance's systems. Nine days later the attackers did exactly that. They ran a script and used an Ethereum feature called EIP-7702 to hand themselves control of a hot wallet, one of the wallets Binance keeps online to process withdrawals. Money started pouring out at 8:05pm UTC. It took Binance four hours to stop it, which works out to more than $25 million a minute. And it took that long because of a safety feature. Binance splits the signing power on those wallets into pieces held by different parties, so no single employee can ever drain one alone. That sounds great until something goes wrong, because it also meant nobody could hit the off switch on their own. For context, the previous record was Bybit's $1.5 billion in February 2025, also North Korea. This one is four times bigger. Binance has already refilled about 98% of it out of its own pocket and says customers won't lose a cent. Binance says it blocked 57 suspected North Korean attacks this year, and the one that got through started with a guy who just wanted a new job.

The Chicago Teachers Union directed a very large share of its total spending on Chicago school board races to Hilario Dominguez.

Yep had the mandate and blew it all up
Just remember that if the GOP gets blown out tomorrow night there’s no one else to blame but Trump. Don’t blame the voters. Trump didn’t follow through on his promises he made to the American people. Then he enriched himself, his family and buddies. It’s that simple.

Well deserved. I just hope and pray the Dems realize this is a vote against Trump / Reps not an endorsement of a broken Democratic party. They should listen to Carville and Rahm more. Prove me wrong on my “ping pong” theory - right, left, right, left … Solutions people!!
🚨🇺🇸 This may be the GOP's WORST election night since Watergate in 1974. Republicans are facing major setbacks as Democrats flip North Carolina's U.S. Senate seat and secure victories in key races nationwide. The GOP lost 48 House seats, 4 Senate seats, and 4 governorships following Nixon's resignation in 1974. Today, several races remain undecided; it’s too early to determine whether 2026 will rival that historic defeat. Nixon wasn't on the ballot in 1974, but his party paid the price... Sound familiar? Analysis on the money behind Chicago school board races today should note that rank-and-file educators overwhelmingly rejected a dues hike for politics back in May. By a 26-point margin, they did not trust the Chicago Teachers Union’s political leadership with an additional $8.5 million for politics.
NEW: Chicago educators dealt a stunning rebuke to Chicago Teachers Union President Stacy Davis Gates’ push for an $8.5M dues hike. In modern Chicago history, there are no examples of teachers union membership bucking leadership in a referendum of this magnitude. Here's what it means for the city and the union. thelastward.org/p/chicago-te…

Good morning. The WSJ on a risk that industry insiders I follow worry could spread as more debt refinancing deadlines hit: “Brookfield is exiting the property rather than refinance the building’s roughly $360 million loan, which would have required tens of millions in additional costs because of today’s high rates, according to people familiar with the matter. The lender, Apollo-owned Bridge Investment Group, is now working to sell the loan. Its cost of debt has effectively wiped out the firm’s equity in the property, giving it little reason to hold on, according to real-estate brokers.” #economy #markets #RealEstate #debt @WSJ
