A bird flu outbreak has been raging uncontrolled on a Utah mink farm for two months.
Flu experts fear it could spark a devastating human pandemic.
But officials haven’t acted — instead prioritizing the financial interests of the fur trade.

When the moronic BBC senior managers are cancelling unique channels & programmes that it should be producing under its charter in a quest to maximise ratings for (their?) survival, sadly I don't think where The Archers is produced is anywhere near top priority (& shouldn't be)

Factory farming is scary. 💔 Babies repeatedly face a life filled with relentless exploitation. Their cries for freedom go unheard, as they are treated as mere machines.
This Halloween season show kindness to animals by choosing plant-based foods.

Animal tourism is a disgusting and cruel industry. They drugged this majestic creature for a photo op. Anyone who takes part in this sort of thing should be ashamed.
Tourists, to help stop this please #DontBuyATicket ~ it’s as simple as this. If there isn’t a demand there isn’t a need for the abuse!

Awful to see homes and communities hit by fires across the country tonight as the heatwave continues.
My thoughts are with everyone affected, particularly those who have been injured or forced from their homes, and with the firefighters who have been taken to hospital.
I’m in touch with local leaders like @RichParkerLab in the West Midlands and will be speaking to emergency services on the ground as they continue their response.
Our firefighters are working in incredibly difficult conditions and putting themselves at risk to keep others safe. A huge thank you to them and everyone supporting the effort tonight.
Please stay safe and follow their advice.

If you’re following a TikTok trend to start fires then I have another hilarious trend for you. It’s called ‘toaster bath’.

No this is kids. Always the same and photos all over fb of them doing it. Its apparently a tiktok challenge where points are awarded for appliances, firefighters, how big the fire is etc. @UKLabour you need a team checking social media for challenges to start wildfires

Apparently, some young people are starting wildfires and then posting their antics on TikTok. This is a fantastic strategy to ensure you are caught and charged with arson. Some parents have bred some really thick little twats.

⚠️ Heads up, everyone – in case you missed this recent development:
Police and farmers across parts of the UK (especially England and Scotland) have been warning about a suspected TikTok trend linked to deliberate fire-setting. It’s been associated with a series of arson attacks on hay and straw stacks, as well as some field and grass fires during this hot, dry spell.
Reports describe a possible challenge encouraging people to “set fire to as much stuff as possible,” including agricultural materials. One farmer near Musselburgh, Scotland, believes a blaze that destroyed a large portion of a 60-acre barley field may have been connected to it. Similar concerns have been raised about overnight haystack fires in northern England.
There’s also speculation (still under investigation, with no confirmed evidence yet) that some of the recent West Midlands grass and garden fires could be tied to A-level results day celebrations involving burning revision notes – another TikTok-style craze.
These incidents are particularly dangerous right now because dry conditions allow small fires to spread quickly into larger ones, risking homes, livestock, farmland, and lives.
Please: • Don’t take part in or share any fire-related challenges • Stay vigilant in rural or agricultural areas • Report suspicious activity to the police
Deliberately starting fires is reckless, illegal, and can have serious consequences. Share this so more people are aware. Stay safe out there. 🔥🚫

WTF is wrong with people?
There is apparently a TikTok trend to set fire to as many things as possible, for clicks.
The police say: “there appears to be a TikTok challenge to 'set fire to as much stuff as possible'.
We truly don’t deserve this planet.
