Fair play to the new Prime Minister. This is an excellent choice of Chancellor, both politically and economically 👏

John Major - Chelsea
Ted Heath – Burnley
Harold Wilson – Huddersfield
Glad that Spain beat Argentina. I am still gutted that Wales did not qualify for this World Cup. It was the WC that could have healed some pain for not qualifying for Mexico 86. – at Barry, Wales

There is a by election in the Baruc ward today. @PlaidBarry just knocked my door. I had not met the chap before. Whilst there is much I struggle with regarding Plaid nationally, Shirley is an excellent candidate & very good person. Today is democratic too unlike #ClosedLists – at Barry, Wales

Sexism, racism and the cesspit tendency on social media was out in force on Facebook today. I've read far too many obscene comments about Serena Williams who is one of the greatest sports stars in my lifetime.

I said it real time last night this was a penalty, I found it mind blowing the commentary team just pretended it didn’t happen. We got away with one last night, its as clear a pen as you’ll see. #england
At most World Cup's I bet on my outsider to win. I have never won it but had some credible shouts so far (with the usual "could have" "should have" "maybe" etc):
1994 - Nigeria (no doubt should have gone further)
1998 - Croatia (Lost 2-1 to France in the semi)
2026 - Norway
