"Oh my goodness, you're early!" Apologies in advance to anyone who works with me – I’m not always such an early bird, and technology and I are barely on speaking terms! Add an Apple Mac into the mix (hello, connection issues in schools!), and let’s just say, it’s a recipe for chaos. Sorry to shock you Sam Cottrell – I think we were all a bit shell-shocked on the first day back! Did anybody else… 💭 Hate waking up to their 6am alarm? 💭 Struggle with the dark, cold morning? 💭 Feel like they never really had a holiday? It’s all gone by so fast and now it's nearly 5pm! Today, I had the pleasure of being at Springfields Academy in Wiltshire, and what a warm welcome it was! Two coffees at a time to fuel my caffeine addiction, an incredible cheese salad for lunch, and the loveliest hosts – thank you, Claire and Sam! Grandma Fantastic had a fabulous time too. It was a very unsuspecting day , in fact a very ordinary day indeed. I was in Manchester waiting to meet some new teachers (Some long-timers too! 😂) to be trained in the system of The Write Stuff, understand its adaptability but also know how it provides consistency of principles. In walked Alison, Chloe, Charlotte (night and day), Kate, Amy, Jenny, Sarah, Helen x2 (chalk & cheese), Izzy, Lucy and Gaz amongst others and the teacher connections just clicked. A little bit of professional magic happened and we just put the educational world to right! We got deep and back again, and Gaz even told a joke. We got a lot off our chest about independent writing but mainly discussed how the harsh STA guidance for Year 6 was ruining the self-0esteem of the fragile younger writers in the school. P.s. ignore the blue plaster... air brush it out of your mind - I cut my finger badly at breakfast! #school #primary #manchester #uk
