Transploitation

De Palma’s Dressed To Kill (1980) closely follows the footsteps of Hitchcock’s iconic 1960 film Psycho. Shot like a Giallo, & released at the start of the US Slasher wave, it’s still popular among cis and trans audiences to this day. What do you think of this controversial film?

Tonight you should watch a film with a trans actor in it.

Let not forget about The Adjudicator in JOHN WICK 3 PARABELLUM (2019), played by Asia Kate Dillon, who is an incredible actor and frankly, a fashion icon 🙌🏻

UNDER MY SKIN (2020) focuses on a nonbinary person named Denny, who is played by 4 different nonbinary actors; Liv Hewson, Bobbi Salvör Menuez, Chloe Freeman and Lex Ryan.

John Cameron Mitchell, who wrote, directed and starred in HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH (2001) , has said Hedwig is "more than a woman or a man. She's a gender of one and that is accidentally so beautiful."

While it's not stated on screen, Glen in SEED OF CHUCKY (2004) and Roya in BIT (2019) have both been confirmed as non-binary by their creators. Do you have any favourite non-binary characters in horror?

Near the beginning The Skin I Live In (2011), Marilia is carrying the book "Runaway" by Alice Munro. Three of the stories in "Runaway" were later adapted by director Pedro Almodóvar into Julieta (2016).

A Blade In The Dark was originally made for television as a two hour special split into four parts. However it was decided that the film was too gory for Italian television censors, and was re-edited into the film we watch today. 🔪
