The latest narrative in @prismreports' post-Roe series comes from North Carolina's Kelsea McLain, an abortion storyteller, advocate, and the founder of @TriangleAccess: prismreports.org/2023/06/27/…
Fight back about the #MonsterAbortionBan NCGA is planning veto override for tomorrow 5/16, arrive by 3:20 PM to ensure you can make it inside and grab a seat. Hydrate and nourish ahead of time, NCGA loves a headache.
Hey @lizzo - first, get well soon! We hate to hear you're sick :( if you make it to your Raleigh show - we are facing a brutal #abortionban and you could bring some serious visibility to this issue! Help us!
We will not be at NCGA BUT WE WILL BE WATCHING! we will share any important updates that come up ❤️
It's not too late to show up today! Folks needed in place by 930 at NCGA
The fight is ongoing - we need folks to show up to the NCGA tomorrow morning, 9:30, for 10 AM senate meeting.
If you call before 430, just ask him to look around the Senate and house chambers to see just what to expect from his constituents.
Call Garland Pierce now to demand he vote against this harmful ban! 919-733-5803 newsobserver.com/article2750…

Respectfully, shut the fuck upppppp
Public comment has begun, first up is ob/gyn against. Speaking to the reality that nothing in this bill is evidence based or beneficial to patients.
More opposition for NCGA - committees not consulted, bill labeled as absurd, lifting up that majority of women in elected body NOT consulted on this bill.
Debate on bill starting - opposition in NCGA verbalizing the bill has changed radically since presented for conference, huge, and too big for the speed with which it's being rammed through.
Also - will limit our ability to share self managed abortion info with our communities - a direct attack on our freedom of speech.
This bill will require an in person visit 72 hours before care can be provided, the average person travels 2+ hours for care. This is a BURDEN, and for many - a BAN.
Gendered bullshit of this bill aside: from a sponsor "babies aren't a burden, they are a joy and a gift."
When I say this bill doesn't give a shit about birthing people...
Headed to NCGA now. We've got some folks ready to testify we want to make sure make it in the room so we're not asking folks to show up to pack the room this AM, save that for 3 PM 💕
JUST IN: Language of the North Carolina bill to ban abortion in most cases at 12 weeks has just been released. #SB20 is 46 pages long and will be considered in a joint rules cmte at 9am tomorrow - little more than 10 hours from now. #ncpol
