SuperValu And Centra Mark Two Years Of DRS With 500m Returns SuperValu and Centra are marking 500 million container returns across their 577 stores nationwide in the two years since the launch of the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS), in February 2024. Musgrave is among the first retailers to reach 500 million container returns, as it has one of the largest DRS estates in the country. SuperValu and Centra stores have seen growing customer engagement with the scheme over the past two years, with customers now returning drinks containers as part of their weekly shop. The shift is particularly evident on Saturdays and Sundays – now the busiest recycling period in SuperValu and Centra stores – when customers tend to bring larger volumes of containers at once.
