Christian McCaffrey (left hamstring): McCaffrey suffered a mild hamstring strain during Week 7, which was initially listed as a thigh injury that knocked him out for the remainder of the first half. He was able to return after halftime and finish the game. The 49ers are on bye this week, which comes at the perfect time. The hope is that McCaffrey doesn't miss any time. Hopefully, he’ll be on the field when Week 9 prep begins.
Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle): According to head coach Dan Campbell, St. Brown tweaked his ankle during Sunday’s game against the Packers but should be ready to practice Thursday, per Richard Silva. It seems like the Lions are planning to rest St. Brown on Wednesday, which makes me believe this isn't something to worry about heading into Week 8.
And that’s it! Stay tuned for next week’s report.
Key Injuries to Watch Before Week 8 Prep Begins
Lamar Jackson (left high-ankle sprain): Jackson is expected to play Sunday against the Bills, per Ian Rapoport. He is believed to be close to 100%, which is a great sign for the Ravens’ offense.
Jadarian Price (chest): Price is expected to have his 21-day practice window opened as Week 8 prep begins Thursday, per head coach Mike Macdonald. When asked about Price's availability for Monday night, coach Macdonald stated “We don’t know yet.” It will be interesting to see if he's out there on Monday night, so make sure that you have a backup plan.
Zach Charbonnet (left ACL tear): Charbonnet is currently expected to play in Week 8 on Monday night against the Bears, per Ian Rapoport. Hopefully, that's the case because we heard the same thing last week when he practiced in full all last week. Since Seattle plays Monday night, the Seahawks will start their week 8 prep on Thursday, making this something to monitor.
Jaylen Waddle (chest): Waddle’s status is currently uncertain after he aggravated a chest injury that he had been dealing with earlier in the week. He left in the 4th quarter against the Cardinals in Week 7 and didn't return. It’ll be interesting to see whether he's able to be on the practice field on Wednesday as Week 8 prep begins.
Breece Hall (right quad): Hall’s status is still up in the air, as he's missed the last 4 games after suffering a right quadriceps injury against the Lions in Week 3. It was good to see him back out on the practice field last week, which leaves people optimistic that he’ll play in 8 against the Raiders. Hopefully, Hall can log a full practice this week so we can feel good about his status heading into Week 8.
Saquon Barkley (right hamstring/back): Barkley only played 9 snaps on Monday night and said afterwards that his ‘hamstring came out great.” He also indicated that the back injury that kept him out for the entire 4th quarter shouldn't prevent him from playing against the Commanders, per Tim McManus of ESPN. Coming off a short week after Monday night’s game hopefully we can see Barkley out on the field on Wednesday as Week 8 prep begins.
Aaron Jones Sr. (left knee MCL sprain): Jones’ status is currently day-to-day, per head coach Kevin O’Connell, after he reaggravated the left knee MCL sprain that he previously was playing through. Let's see if he's able to practice on Wednesday and throughout the week. If not, Jordan Mason immediately becomes a top-15 RB in week 8.
