Two addons that could completely change World PvP in WoW Forever. If you're planning to play World PvP in WoW Forever, there are two addons I genuinely think everyone should know about: OVERLORD + WAR EFFORT I've been using these during the beta, and after experiencing some incredible large-scale battles, I honestly believe these addons could play a huge role in keeping World PvP alive for years. Here's what makes them so interesting. 1. OVERLORD – Giving World PvP a purpose Developed by @TromaFR Overlord turns the open world into a battlefield where Horde and Alliance have actual reasons to fight each other. Instead of just randomly killing players, you're fighting for objectives, territory and faction dominance. What does Overlord offer? - Territory control and capturable objectives across Azeroth. - Guild keeps and outposts to capture and defend. - Player and guild PvP leaderboards. - Honorable kill and objective tracking. - Notifications about ongoing battles. - Opportunities for organized, large-scale faction warfare. Imagine your guild capturing an important objective, only for an Alliance raid to arrive and challenge you. You call for reinforcements, other guilds join the battle, and suddenly an entire zone turns into a massive Horde vs Alliance war. That's exactly the kind of World PvP I want to experience. And there's more coming! The Overlord developer is also working on a dedicated website, with plans for player and guild leaderboards and additional information. Having an external place to follow the World PvP competition could make things even more interesting. 2. WAR EFFORT – Finding the fights Developed by @poutinewow While Overlord gives us reasons to fight, War Effort helps us actually find those fights. It creates a scouting network where players can share information about enemy activity across Azeroth. What does War Effort offer? - Enemy group sightings displayed on the world map. - Information about enemy locations and group sizes. - Layer information to help players reach the action. - Alerts about enemy activity. - Shared scouting information between players. - Kill-on-sight lists and scouting objectives. - Integration with Overlord objectives. Think about what this means for organized World PvP. Your guild is defending an objective in Ashenvale. Suddenly, scouts report a large Alliance group moving toward your position. You know where they're coming from, how many players have been spotted and where reinforcements are needed. Instead of randomly searching for PvP, you're preparing for an actual battle. That's what makes War Effort so valuable. 3. WHY THESE ADDONS WORK SO WELL TOGETHER This is where I believe the real potential lies. OVERLORD gives players a reason to fight. WAR EFFORT helps players find the fight. One creates meaningful objectives and competition. The other helps players communicate, locate enemies and organize battles around those objectives. And both become more valuable when more people use them. Imagine entire guilds coordinating attacks, defending territory, tracking enemy movements and fighting for their faction across Azeroth. That's the kind of World PvP community I'd love to see develop in WoW Forever. 4. LET'S GET THE COMMUNITY INVOLVED Whether you're Horde or Alliance, a solo player or part of a large PvP guild, I really encourage you to give both addons a try. The more players who participate, the more opportunities we create for large-scale battles. And after seeing what's already possible during the beta, I genuinely think we're only getting started. OVERLORD MIGHT BE ONE OF THE BEST THINGS TO HAPPEN TO WORLD PvP IN WOW FOREVER! ⚔️ Just watched a really interesting YouTube interview with the developer behind the Overlord addon @tromaFR, and I genuinely think more people need to pay attention to what he's building. One of the things I've always loved about World of Warcraft is the unpredictability of World PvP. You're out questing, farming, or exploring, and suddenly you're fighting for your life against the opposite faction. That's what makes the world feel ALIVE. And that's exactly why I'm such a big fan of Overlord. Instead of World PvP being something you occasionally stumble into, Overlord gives players another reason to get out into the open world, hunt down enemies, and actually engage with the opposing faction. 🔥 More World PvP encounters ⚔️ More Horde vs Alliance battles 💀 More rivalries, revenge, and unexpected fights 🌍 More reasons to explore and fight in the open world I've been using Overlord throughout the WoW Forever beta, and I can genuinely say it's made my experience so much more enjoyable. Some of my best moments so far haven't come from dungeons, battlegrounds, or organized PvP. They've come from completely unexpected fights out in the world. And here's what excites me the most: The more people who use Overlord, the more interesting World PvP becomes for EVERYONE. Imagine entire zones turning into battlegrounds. Rival guilds hunting each other. Players becoming known across the server. Actual rivalries developing that last for weeks or months. That's the kind of World PvP experience I'd love to see in WoW Forever. Huge respect to the developer for putting time and effort into creating something that brings players together through good old-fashioned faction warfare.
