So I’m hopeless at chess, but seems like the only option here is to castle the king, and I struggle to imagine how you would ever arrive at this board without whites ever moving either the king or the rook
No, nonono. We’re not doing BG3 revisionism. BG3 was gayer than a submarine orgy and it was in-your-face about it. It was (just) tolerable because it was on top of a solid tactical battle system, open-ended quest design, and responsiveness to player choice
Baldur's Gate 3 gays:
>Look like normal cool people
>Blend in aesthetically with everyone else
>Don't make a big deal out of their relationship
>Don't explain
Went broke cuz too woke gays:

>We are going to have to unpack that
A big problem with genderslop content - going back years, not just the recent stuff - is that it has created an expectation in many men that wives are all essentially ticking time bombs until they ruin your life in some way usually related to infidelity
Women cannot be priests.
You may disagree. You may even know some high level Roman Curia bureaucrats who claim the contrary. But you have to ask yourself, is it really worth damning my eternal soul over?
Women cannot be priests.
Every day I am more grateful that my wife doesn’t use social media
Some parents are ditching plates and silverware for a “dump dinner,” pouring the meal straight onto a foil-covered table and letting the kids dig in. For these families, it’s less about manners and more about making memories.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The "dump dinner" is a viral social media trend of staged videos primarily for engagement, not a common family practice. Children in videos often react with alarm rather than requesting it.

Ireland used to be seen as a gloriously dim beacon of Catholic obscurantism, and now every native Irish Catholic is some kind of teilhardian turboprog
A new senior Vatican official has reaffirmed her previous push for female deacons, saying that women “hear the call to priesthood”.

Weird to think it wasn’t that long ago that swaddling your baby and leaving it home alone for a few hours as you went to run errands was normal parenting practice. We’ve gone from that to “if you’re not at your baby’s side in 10s when it makes the slightest noise you’re abusive”
Absolute treasure scored from the library clearance shelf, a 50 year old engineering master’s degree thesis analyzing the then-recent zoning and public transport plans for my town
Tfw I never got the chance to be featured by a third world engagement farm as a precocious child genius bc by age 11 we had to know multiplication tables up to 30x30 by heart
“Hit me up if you would be submissive”
Replying to @TheolgyMatrs
BTW if there’s a single Catholic woman who is between 23 and 28, hit me up if you would be submissive.
A few girls have like the tweet so if I couldn’t be single anymore…
Just drink cereal coffee like a normal person
Most decaf coffee is made with methylene chloride. It's the solvent that used to be in paint stripper.
The green beans are steamed, then washed in methylene chloride, which pulls out the caffeine and not much else. The beans are steamed again to drive off the solvent and then roasted at over 400F. FDA allows up to 10 parts per million. When a lab tested 24 decaf brands in 2020 it found the solvent in 10 of them at about 0.05 to 0.1 ppm, around 100 times below the limit. The industry calls this the European method.
There are 3 other ways to do it. Ethyl acetate, a solvent that can be made from sugarcane, which the trade calls the natural method. Carbon dioxide under pressure. And the Swiss Water process, which uses hot water and carbon filters and no solvent at all. Peet's says all of its decaf is water process. Starbucks has told reporters most of its decaf is the direct contact method, meaning solvent.
EPA banned most uses of methylene chloride in 2024, but food is FDA's job, so decaf wasn't part of it. A petition to pull it from food has sat at FDA since December 2023. FDA reopened comments on it in May and hasn't decided. If the bag says Swiss Water or water process, no solvent touched it. If the bag says nothing, you don't know.
