why is nobody actually talking about the new meta ad terms that kick in on october 30? 🤦♂️
I went through them and a few things genuinely pissed me off
for example when you turn off an ad, it can keep running for up to 24 hours
and yes, ofc you still pay for that shit
another good one is that they can run tests on your campaigns whenever they want without your consent
those tests include pricing, delivery and reporting
also dont be surprisied if all your auto enhancements will be turned on while your campaign is running
cant wait to see my ads with a random lofi beat meta decided fits my brand
and ofc that you are forced to agree that it can impact your performance so Mark can wash his hands clean after
another good one is that they can send bots to crawl your store, create test accounts on it and use everything they find to train their AI
and now my favorite one
they admit in writing that their AI features can make mistakes but if those mistakes break the rules, its 100% on you
literally any ad their AI creates or edits is legally yours
I cant even begin to explain how unhinged this is
so basically they keep turning on AI enhancements we never asked for and now they're making sure the risk stays on our side in case something happens
imagine being a founder and getting banned for an ad you never even created
zuck's timing with stuff like this is always impeccable
the update takes place on October 30, right in the middle of Q4 when everyone needs their accounts as stable as possible
if this Q4 is a dissaster now you have someone to blame :)
