⚠️ Nearly 25 years after 9/11, some airlines are adding a second barrier to protect the cockpit. The folding gate blocks the front cabin when the cockpit door opens, adding another layer beyond the locked door. A 2018 law required new airliners to add them, but rollout has been slow. Watch how this system works and why pilots want it on more planes.

❗ China is considering tariff cuts on 1,619 U.S. products worth about $30 billion. The list covers farm goods like corn, wheat, meat and dairy, but soybeans were left out. Soybeans are China’s biggest U.S. farm import. The country buys them to feed its massive pig industry. China can still buy from the U.S., but keeping soybeans separate gives Beijing leverage in the trade fight. The bigger issue is that China has already found another supplier. Brazil has taken more of China’s soybean market since 2018, and U.S. exports to China fell from $12.6 billion in 2024 to $3 billion in 2025. A tariff deal can reopen a market. It cannot instantly rebuild a supply chain that moved somewhere else.

❗ICE spent $1.07 billion buying 11 warehouses for detention. No detainees are currently held in any of them. Now ICE plans to sell 7 that cost $707 million. Older February footage showed why this was always going to be hard: One 800,000 square foot warehouse had just 4 toilets. These buildings were made to move goods, not house people. GAO says ICE expanded without the long term planning needed to guide billions in spending. $20 million in unrecoverable costs is already gone. If those 7 warehouses sell for less than $707 million, taxpayers eat an even bigger loss.
