i’ll do everything in my power on the technical side to help this initiative move forward and navigate any protocol-level obstacles along the way.
on a personal note, Alex has a rare mix of technical depth, bizdev talent and deep Kaspa knowledge. i honestly can’t think of anyone better suited to lead it, and i really appreciate him taking this on
Today we are introducing KaspaDollar, an initiative led by core developer @asaefstroem to build the first decentralized stablecoin on the $KAS network.
The developments around @kccforum and the Toccata hardfork have considerably widened what Kaspa is capable of. Capability alone, however, does not make an ecosystem. Decentralized finance requires a unit of account that holds its value, and until Kaspa has a stablecoin of its own, every application built on it will remain dependent on assets issued elsewhere.
The design we intend to follow is the decentralized, overcollateralized stablecoin: a pattern whose security properties have been examined and tested across the industry for the better part of a decade. With the support of the core team, we consider the conditions right to bring it to Kaspa.
Realizing this requires development, an independent audit, further research, and the operational work of taking a protocol from specification to production. To fund it, we are opening a fundraiser with a target of 5,000,000 KAS.
Contributions are made directly to the fundraising address published on the website. Should the target not be reached by 1 January 2027, every contribution will be returned to the address from which it was sent.
Up until that point, this account will share the plans, details and progress of the work as it develops.

I consolidated everything I had into KAS in 2023. Never sold any. Now I’m down $190K. The biggest financial mistake I ever made. I just emotionally accepted, in the past few weeks, that I may never see an ROI or even get the principal back.
KAS is building tech that is pushing known boundaries, not what the market is asking for… and absolutely ZERO commercialization efforts, no go-to-market strategy. “Build it and they will come” is the core approach. Time will tell.
I fell out of love with KAS, but the technology is and will be the pinnacle of PoW cryptography and digital programmability. BUT monetization is a totally different discipline, which I have not seen demonstrated.
KAS is a paradox… the absolute best and most notable and capable development team and founder in all of crypto, building products like pure futurists, but with no business acumen whatsoever.
The only reason I don’t dump my KAS right now is because I’m waiting for DAGKnight and Vprogs. But a few months after that, if I see no movement, I’m out.

The detail worth reading is the deadline. Miss 5 million KAS by 1 January and every contribution goes back to the self-custodial address it came from.
No fund gets a discount, no insider gets an early allocation. A public target and a public refund rule. Try finding that in a seed round.

$KAS community - here’s an initiative worth getting behind.
@KaspaDollar, led by core developer @asaefstroem, is building a decentralized dollar on Kaspa, with a published roadmap, an independent audit planned, and technical support pledged by @michaelsuttonil.
The fundraising target: 5,000,000 KAS.
kaspa:qpy0rvs9mkfa66vnhre4dwsc4c0nu8jhvk0jlfzvq7x8pejjezpujpyrwecl6
#KASPA has ~500,000 wallets as an illustrative base:
Participation | Contributors | KAS
100% | 500,000 | 10 KAS
75% | 375,000 | 13.34 KAS
50% | 250,000 | 20 KAS
20% | 100,000 | 50 KAS
2027 targets: build January–April → testnet May → audit June–August → mainnet September.
Builders need funding to turn capabilities into usable products. A named developer, a defined objective, and published milestones give us something concrete to support and follow.
Read the roadmap and donation/refund terms.
Contribute if you can; share if you can’t.

@KaspaKii @ZETAlliance - why don’t you work with all your big Middle Eastern billionaire organizations, entities, and individuals and orchestrate a 5 million KAS donation for this initiative? You say you facilitate.

Kaspa Dollar Seeks 5M KAS to Fund New Stablecoin
KaspaDollar (@KaspaDollar) has announced plans for a decentralized stablecoin on the Kaspa network (@kaspaunchained) $KAS.
The initiative is led by core developer @asaefstroem and targets 5 million KAS in funding. The project aims to raise the funds to cover development, independent auditing, research, and launch operations.
KaspaDollar is planning an overcollateralized stablecoin designed to reduce Kaspa DeFi's reliance on assets issued elsewhere. The team says recent developments, including the Toccata hardfork, have expanded the network's capabilities.
Contributions will be refunded if the target is not reached by January 1, 2027.

Exactly right, and you've seen it firsthand.
A payment facilitator (Stripe, Square, Toast) or a processor like Fiserv plugs into our API. When a refund is issued, it gets an immediate, tamper-proof settlement record on Kaspa that the merchant, PayFac, card issuer and customer can all verify.
It doesn't make ACH or card settlement faster. What it does is give everyone a final, shared proof the refund was committed. That lets the PayFac or issuer credit the customer instantly, within their own risk limits, instead of making them wait 3–5 days.
It eliminates refund-related disputes and mistaken chargebacks: "I never got my refund," duplicate refunds, and chargebacks filed after a refund already went out. Whoever fronts the instant credit is protected by the record, which is what makes it safe to do.
It's a natural premium card perk too. Amex is both the network and the issuer, so it could roll out instant refunds to Platinum members on its own. Those customers feel the wait most and carry the lowest risk. The same play works for Sapphire Reserve or Venture X.
There's no shared settlement record for refunds today. That's the gap we're closing.

ran events for fintech founders wrestling with exactly this gap , the delay isn't just fraud risk, it kills customer trust too. instant settlement fixes both problems at once, honestly underrated point.

Built on kaspa:native : Instant Refund Engine
A card or ACH refund is approved in seconds but takes 3–5 business days to settle. That gap is where a big share of the ~$100B a year lost to returns fraud and abuse lives: duplicate refunds, refund-then-chargeback, and disputes that come down to whose logs you trust.
Instant Refund is a refund settlement layer that uses Kaspa as the proof of finality. The existing rails keep moving the money. Each refund is anchored to the blockDAG as a signed transaction, so every party gets a final, verifiable record in seconds. No customer or card data goes on-chain.
Under the hood:
1. FastAPI refund API with idempotent requests.
2. Postgres ledger and a row-locked settlement queue.
3. Workers send HMAC-authenticated intents that expire in 60 seconds.
4. A Rust sidecar holds the only key, checks it against the mainnet address at startup, then signs and submits to kaspad over gRPC.
5. Every refund maps to its Kaspa tx ID in a per-merchant compliance export.
6. The off-chain side is running. Wiring the Rust transaction path into the live sidecar is the current milestone.
If you’re in payments, retail or the Kaspa ecosystem and this is useful to you, DM me. Design doc available.
I pitched to a few FinTech CIOs but could not obtain seed funding. I also applied this product to @ycombinator but was denied acceptance. No active dev or sales.
