Solar Still
It’s built, but we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see how much it produces.
It’s a low quantity production technique, but one thing a solar still can do passively that many other water purification options can’t, is to separate clean water from salt-water or super nasty water.
What you need: a hole, a container, and plastic sheeting of some sort or a rain poncho.
The entire process is using the sun to extract humidity from vegetation, dirt and unclean water. Then the humidity hits the plastic and condenses into drinkable water. Think of it like a lid on top of a boiling pot.
The larger the solar still and the more moist materials you can pack the hole with, the more clean drinking water you can produce.
I’ll QT this post (probably tomorrow, later if no good production by then) and give you an update on how it’s doing. It’s currently overcast here, so I’m not expecting any miracles on quantity. The water bottle was entirely empty when I put it in.
Knowing nothing about cocktoach milk, I immediately want everyone involved in pushing this arrested. Everyone who even says "it might not be so bad."
Straight to jail.
Nutritious cockroach milk could be next superfood - and you'll never believe how it's extracted trib.al/W2FGJob
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Cockroach "milk" is a protein crystal secretion nourishing embryos inside one cockroach species; it is not practically harvestable, scalable, or shown safe for human consumption, contrary to superfood hype.
