If someone is sabotaging you during campaigns because they also want to be president, picking them as deputy president also poses a risk to you. They will sabotage you from within. They will be very insubordinate too.

The colonial obsession of the government with policing individuals, instead of diagnosing and treating social causes, is very strange when it comes from a doctor. I keep asking if Fanon is part of reading lists in Kenyan medical schools.
Medical Services Principal Secretary Ouma Oluga warns that the government will soon begin tracking Kenyans purchasing cetirizine in a bid to curb its misuse.

As @TweetingPundit said, what's even more cruel about retirement is that many retirees still have children in school whose fees need to be paid. And then the NSSF people demand bribes from retirees, yet older people have higher medical bills to pay. The political economy of Kenya is extremely cruel.
The Colonial Clock: Who Designed Africa's Retirement Models? We talk about colonialism’s obvious legacies in Africa: IMF structural adjustment programmes, debt traps, "aid" tied to economically-crippling policy changes, externally-fueled conflicts and t*rror... But what about those colonial legacies which we have normalized so much, we barely even notice or question them? What if we told you that even the age at which you are allowed to retire as an African is just another Western colonial weapon fashioned against you? @sannario_ reports for The Spearhead.

Americans don't use WhatsApp because of a decision Apple made in 2013. We only know about it because the emails came out in court, and the whole thing came down to keeping your kids off Android. It started with Eddy Cue, the guy who runs Apple's services. That April he emailed the team saying Apple really needed to put iMessage on Android. Google was reportedly trying to buy WhatsApp for $1 billion at the time, and Cue's pitch was that Apple already had the best messaging app, so why not make it the one the whole world used. Craig Federighi, Apple's software chief, shut it down. He asked how Apple was supposed to get Android users to leave WhatsApp when they didn't even have iPhone friends. So back in 2013, the guy running iPhone software was basically admitting WhatsApp already owned everybody who didn't have an iPhone. Then he got to what he was actually worried about. iMessage on Android would remove "an obstacle to iPhone families giving their kids Android phones." Phil Schiller, Apple's longtime marketing boss, backed him up in another email thread in 2016, writing that putting iMessage on Android would hurt Apple more than help it. None of this was public until Epic sued Apple and the emails got pulled into evidence in 2021. Now look at what that does to WhatsApp. The entire reason WhatsApp exists is that it works on any phone, so it wins wherever group chats are a mix of iPhones and Androids. Apple went the other direction on purpose. For years, every Android user in an American group chat showed up as a green bubble and their videos came through blurry, and the fix everybody landed on was buying another iPhone. Tim Cook pretty much said this out loud in 2022. A reporter at a conference told him he couldn't send videos to his mom because she had an Android, and Cook told him to buy his mom an iPhone. And it worked about as well as anything Apple has ever done. Nearly 9 in 10 American teenagers own an iPhone, and iPhones were 75% of phones sold at the big three US carriers in early 2026. If almost everyone you text has the same phone, an app whose whole selling point is working across phones has nothing to offer you. Worldwide, Apple only sells about 1 in 5 phones. Most of the world's group chats stayed mixed, so they ended up on the one app that ran on everything, and WhatsApp blew past 3 billion users. Meta says more than 100 million Americans use it now too. Apple finally added RCS texting with Android in 2024 and turned on encryption for it this May, and they still kept those messages green. Apple basically let WhatsApp have the rest of the planet so it could keep American teenagers.
Why don’t Americans use WhatsApp?

We asked for an Audit. In which language is that a defence of theft? It is the hope of the actual thieves to dissappear in the fog of the manufactured "outrage". The worst of Kenyans fear is you being in charge for we will lack words to describe the plunder that will ensue.
The pretentious (former)Opposition, now turned Lords of corruption, attempted defence of the Covid19 grand larceny is NOT shocking. It confirms the worst of Kenyan's fears that their side of handshake was never interested in the people's good but opportunity to loot. What a shame.

Well, I didn't expect the reaction to my thoughts that I have! Most see what I was saying. Some of you are missing my point about podcasters and politics. We’re heading into a pivotal period where money, influence and power will be more intense than perhaps any election before it. Obinna is one of Kenya’s most-watched podcasters. Whether he wants it or not, that influence carries an equally heavy responsibility to the people who watch him. Screenshot is from research done by @OdipoDev that we co-published last year. As they say, with great power...

If you don’t understand anything about policymaking and politics, understand this about insecurity. The only actor that has monopoly on legitimate violence use is the State! If the state is not exercising that power to completely crush out insecurity it, means it favors them!

On Ruto and the Bayern-Ajax match, the hard thing about sportswashing is that pointing it out and telling people that they are being manipulated rarely works, that's how powerful it is. Escapism and spectacle in moments like these often overrides political exhaustion.

Dear civic institutions (including religious institutions, chamas, sports clubs, running clubs, clubs 😅), you don’t need some big donor funding programme to raise awareness on ongoing continuous voter registration. Why is this work being left to politicos?

For those who frequent industrial area, have you noticed several companies closed and are now Chinese go downs just for imports? Is this something the govt thinks its okay? We stopped production completely

Either 1. The youthwing bolts, further weakening the party. 2. A leaner, more focused ODM emerges from the friction 3. UDA duels ODM in Nyanza with better planning and $$$. 4. UDA acquiesces & ODM lives to fight another day.
PS Raymond Omollo is telling ODM that they should support Ruto without any demands because he's bringing development to the region. While ODM is demanding shares and big demands from Ruto , e.g zoning of ODM bases Apa naona nikama ODM imecheswa , Ruto is communicating through Raymond na hawaoni. Ruto is a bully and he won't allow anyone to bully him . He will want to dictate everything by himself not to be dictated to. Apo mbele kuna possibility ODM might leave Broad-based, don't rule it out.

One of the hills I’m willing to die on is that African countries need to look more at countries like Brazil, Mexico, Cuba and even the Indian state of Kerala when designing their health care and social protection systems.. and avoid mimicking the West ..🤔🤔

Apparently, in Kenya, you must first spend 30 years disappointing people before you're qualified to lead them. A newcomer with fresh ideas is considered inexperienced, while a veteran with a record of failure is called a statesman. What a system! 😂
