Pour one out for BioWare. They haven’t done much in a while but made some of my favourite games and will be missed by many.
BREAKING: BioWare is shutting down and the next Mass Effect game is canceled, according to a new report. bit.ly/4iwUR0J

I have to say, as someone who almost always defaults to CLI, I am quickly falling in love with the Codex desktop experience. Being able to split screen model interactions with file panes on the right, tabbed for easy access is a dream. I love this. Kudos to the team, @thsottiaux

When the first thing you see in the summer release is “More Grok Commands”, you know innovation has completed died at Tesla.

I wonder how many times @Steve_Dangle has started recording a video only to have to scrap it due to even more moves made today.

This is the exact trend I predict will hit SaaS real soon - not so much “because of AI” but rather a huge cutting of middle management and flattened org structures as ICs start becoming more and more capable due to AI.
Our CEO Vlad Tenev shared the following note with our team at Robinhood today: Robinhoodies, We’ve made the difficult decision to say goodbye to some of our team members today. Those departing are being notified, and we’re offering them full support through this transition, including severance. These are good people who helped build the foundation we stand on today, and I am deeply grateful for their contributions to Robinhood. I want to be transparent about why this is happening now. Robinhood’s business has never been stronger. But to achieve the massive scale of our mission, we cannot default to operating as a heavily-layered organization. We must be a lean, hyper-focused team where every single individual is empowered to make a massive impact. Our execution is strong today, but our ambitions require us to continuously raise our own bar. To achieve that, today we are flattening our org structure and reducing our overall team size by 10% of headcount. Because our financial position is strong, we are making this change proactively. The goal is to maximize our talent density and ensure that our culture is defined by an absolute elite performance bar and a superlative commitment to our customers. This transition creates even more opportunities for our most talented people to grow and take on greater responsibility. We will also continue hiring strategically, investing heavily in top-tier talent, and utilizing frontier technologies to push our execution even further. I know it can be painful to say goodbye to teammates. It is the hardest consequence of committing uncompromisingly to our values of being “Lean & Disciplined” and demanding “High Performance.”

A question for AI devs, engineers and vibe coders - when you talk about token usage, are you including your cache reads too? Seeing conflicting opinions online and wondering if those 1b/day users are including cache or not

They were not kidding when they said Fable 5 would burn through usage quickly. I went through my Max 20 plan like it was nothing. Got a ton of value out of it mind you but it’s a quick reality check to not blindly live on this model when it’s not needed.

it’s in gemini, just create it in ai studio. oh, that’s for your personal google one account. for workspace you need gemini business. no, not gemini advanced, that’s ai pro now. unless you need ai ultra. oh agents? you do that in spark actually. no, not gemini api managed agents, that’s different. for coding use jules. unless you mean the agentic ide, that’s antigravity. no, that’s the old antigravity, download the new one. actually gemini cli is being deprecated, use antigravity cli. no the flash model is smarter than the pro model. unless you need pro. if it’s video, use flow. no, flow uses veo. no, nano banana is images. actually that’s in gemini now. unless you’re in search, then it’s ai mode. no, research is notebooklm. anyway it’s all very simple.

In all the years I’ve travelled to SF, I’ve never had to wait more than a few seconds for an @Uber from SFO and now here I am waiting 20+ mins just to get connected to a driver, let alone how long it’ll take to get here. Is Uber dying in SF?

SaaS is in such a vulnerable spot and I don’t think many realize how bad it can get. As people start to learn how they can vibe code their own solutions, even if it gets 80% of the way, that’s a big impact.

Here’s a real example - I’m sick of all the ads I get on my @weathernetwork app so I’m just building my own this weekend. Completely free, fully custom and feature rich. Turns out there’s a ton of free APIs that work for non-commercial use so I don’t lose a thing.

As more and more people realize this, they’re just going to create their own. They don’t need to worry about distribution, scaling, etc if for solo use. Security is simple enough for local builds that AI can handle it well enough. Budgeting apps? Fitness apps? All easily built
