In Memory of a Legend! ZIMA Lifetime Achievement Award🏆 Music Producer Extraordinaire! 🎼 Legendary Football player: Highlanders FC & Zim National Team ⚽

Joined October 2022
Babethi kayibulawe kayisoze ibulawe! In 1976, @HighlanderBosso faced a crisis known as the "great betrayal" when a group of key players left to form a new team, Olympics. This split was fueled by financial disputes, with the departing players reportedly lured by money from the Olympics, which had financially strong sponsors. The betrayal left Highlanders' squad severely depleted, but the club was saved by a small group of loyal players who chose to stay. These core loyalists included the late @TymonMabaleka, along with Lawrence Phiri, Josiah Nxumalo, and Douglas "British" Mloyi. Their commitment and leadership were crucial in rebuilding the team from the ground up. This act of loyalty ensured the club's survival, and it went on to become a footballing powerhouse in the following decades, cementing its status as a symbol of resilience in Zimbabwean football. #AManOfAllSeasons #Bosso #tshilamoya #amahlolanyama

The iconic Zimbabwean musician, Lovemore Majaivana, penned the stirring football anthem - "Badlala Njani?" "iTshilamoya ayila mathambo, kodwa idlala njani ingela mathambo." This powerful line tells the awe and admiration for the skillful and passionate play of Highlanders players. The song features tributes to several former Bosso greats, including the legendary @TymonMabaleka who produced the hit song. After a successful football career, Mabaleka transitioned into the music industry, becoming a prominent & sort after music producer. Mabaleka was an inspiration and played a crucial role in producing most of Majaivana's albums, showcasing a unique blend of footballing prowess and musical aptitude. #Since 1926 #Bosso100

Can't wait for this! @TymonMabaleka was a prolific producer at Gallo Records (later Zimbabwe Music Corporation). @DavidScobie was a noted studio engineer during the same era. Scobie collaborated with Mabaleka, notably on the production of albums by the Zimbabwean band Ilanga, amongst many others!

A great and insightful conversation. I love how both spoke glowingly about @TymonMabaleka. Zhakata credits him for facilitating the release of his much acclaimed album, Maruva Enyika, with the hit song, Mugove. This was after Gramma Records shelved the album for 2 & half years – at Johannesburg, South Africa

When the album "Maruva Enyika," which included the song "Mugove," was completed, a two-and-a-half-year battle ensued, requiring Tymon Mabaleka's intervention for the album to be released. You can watch the entire episode at the link below. youtu.be/0Xq0ifqu9cs?si=bX7u…
