The cost of NOT implementing Universal Basic Income (UBI) may be far greater than the cost of providing it. Poverty isn't free. Taxpayers already pay for it through the roof with emergency rooms, shelters, policing, courts, prisons, and lost productivity. We keep asking how much it would cost to lift people out of poverty, maybe we should start asking how much it's costing us to keep them there. πŸ€” IT AIN'T CHEAP.
