On 4/15 @WomenLeadLabor Co-Director @LaneWindham will be speaking at @UCWCSU "Workplace Democracy: Inequality and the Future of U.S. Labor" ⬇️
Unions strengthen democracy by giving workers a voice on the job, curbing inequality, and providing a bulwark against right-wing extremism. Why have US unions weakened since the 70's? What does the current wave worker action—including in higher ed—say about labor’s path forward?
Come learn about the history of US unions and where we could be going from Dr. @LaneWindham (!!). We're so excited for lecture, which is the last event in the Democracy and Labor series UCW-CSU is co-organizing.
Join us and dance to the beat of democracy at this Los Mocochetes show! Los Mocochetes are an 8-piece Chicano funk band based in Denver, and their music is awesome and revolutionary. We'll be at Avogadro's Number on Sunday, April 14 starting 5:30pm!
“Public schools are at the center of the manufactured breakdown of the fabric of everyday life. They are under attack not because they are failing, but because they are public.”—Henry Giroux
Hear from educational workers about reinvigorating workplace democracy across CO!
Do you want to talk to your coworkers about our union but don’t know where to start? Learn tips and best practices at our organizing conversation training on Tuesday, March 26 from 6-7PM at Eddy 100!
Come to our general membership meeting next Thursday from 6-7:30pm! It’s in Eddy 1 (which is in the basement), and we’re going to be talking about some exciting new plans and how you can get involved with our union.
