Parliament wants to switch off the cameras on our elections. The National Assembly has scrapped the legal duty for IEBC to livestream polling station results. Kenyans deserve to watch the results in real-time for integrity and transparency. The People’s Coalition on Electoral Reforms is diligently working on Mandatory electoral reforms before the 2027 elections. You can stop the Senate from approving these nefarious amendments by supporting our work at donations.davidmaraga.com/

During his visit to Homa Bay County today, Hon. @dkmaraga condoled with Hon. @NetoAgostinhoMP following the loss of his aunt, the late Mama Rusandel Akumu Sila in Kochieng, Ndhiwa Constituency. Speaking at the burial, Hon. Maraga called out the National Assembly for approving the scrapping of livestreaming of presidential election results, warning that Kenyans must not be denied electoral transparency. “Every Kenyan deserves an electoral process that is open, accountable, and verifiable. We will challenge this law and continue fighting for a transparent electoral process where every vote counts and every result can be verified by the public", he said. We couldn't have put it any other way! #Maraga27 #UGMParty

Kenya is a technologically advanced country. We will not be told how many Kenyans turned out to vote. Livestream the voter turnout. Livestream the election results. Let Kenyans see the numbers for themselves. @kattoloo @dkmaraga @Reforms_Ke @IEBCKenya @NetoAgostinhoMP

TRAGIC: National Assembly has as it did in 2024 aborted its duty to cure the issues of the National Tallying Centre & results transmission by refusing to debate/consider/pass a new Section 39 as proposed by @Reforms_Ke led by @dkmaraga and presented by @CaroliOmondi. @UGMParty
The National Assembly has approved the Elections Amendment Bill 2024, which could scrap mandatory livestreaming of polling station results, raising fresh concerns over transparency ahead of the 2027 General Election. #KTNPrime @TheJesseRogers

What are they hiding from Kenyans? How can we have 'transparent' electoral processes when we can't access the livestream of the results?
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will not be live-streaming results at polling stations in the forthcoming elections following a move by MPs to pass the Elections (Amendment) Bill, 2024 standardmedia.co.ke/national…

The amendment is patently unconstitutional. @Reforms_Ke led by @dkmaraga @HonJBMuturi @CaroliOmondi shall mount a legal challenge. We must have a credible election that is trabsparent, accountable, verifiable, open as required in Arts. 81 and 86(a) of the Constitution. Bunge 🚮
