Agreed. So many that struggle to decode have higher comprehension levels and it’s great to be able to activate their interest in stories

It provides huge exposure to a range of vocabulary, different cultures (if texts are chosen appropriately) gives an opportunity for discussion & debate and they have reading modelled positively instilling positive habits. IMO

Yes- culture is building in the ‘why’ behind what we are all doing. Making it evidence- based gives the why weight, and value, and logical debate.
