The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) Market Surveillance team is conducting inspections of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) products and handling practices across the Kampala Metropolitan Area to strengthen compliance with safety and quality requirements. The inspections are targeting common compliance gaps, including mislabelling, under-filling of gas cylinders, cylinder swapping (cross-filling), the use of cylinders beyond their service life, and other practices that may compromise consumer safety. UNBS is committed to enforcing applicable standards and requirements to ensure that LPG cylinders meet the required safety and quality standards.
