One of my greatest priorities as @UN Secretary-General has been fighting the triple planetary crisis of biodiversity loss, pollution & climate change, because I have children & grandchildren that are counting on world leaders to be leaders for nature. Let’s act with urgency for our children, for our future & for all life on Earth.

Her Excellency Lucia Witbooi, Vice President Of The Republic Of Namibia witnessed the signing affirming the Government of Namibia’s commitment to increasing investment in mental health. The Declaration commits to: 1. At least 4% annual growth in the mental health budget allocation from 2027/28. 2. At least 10% of revenue from private patients using state facilities directed to mental health. 3. A fit-for-purpose mental health unit in every new public or private hospital at district level or above. 4. Anti-stigma and patient rights education, involving people with lived experience. 5. Working towards at least five new mental health units operational by 31 March 2037, prioritising underserved regions. 6. Three doctors sent for psychiatric specialisation annually. Accountability starts with an implementation team within 30 days and a costed plan within 90 days of signing. @WHONAMIBIA welcomes this leadership and remains committed to supporting equitable, rights-based care and implementation of the Mental Health Bill once enacted and brought into force. #MentalHealth #HealthForAll #Namibia
