Humans have a unique skeletal structure that allows for bipedal locomotion. To help visualise the changes from quadrupedal to bipedal locomotion our 2nd year students had a chance to compare the morphological differences between human and animal bones in their ANA215 practical.

Sometimes the abnormal is completely normal! This month we focus on normal #humanvariation. This particular individual presents with a case of both sacralisation (where the lowest lumbar vertebrae fuses to the sacrum) while still having 5 lumbar vertebrae!
