Spot sign evolution patterns (I, II, and III) on multiphase CT angiography were significantly associated with hematoma expansion. @UPensato @HUNIMED @DCNSNeuro ahajrnls.org/4yC2lVF

In this post-hoc analysis of the ANEXXA-I trial (andexanet alfa vs SOC [4F-PCC] for DOAC-related ICH) it was the density makers (hereogenous, hypodensity, and back hole sign) which predicted hematoma expansion (33% overall). None of the irregular shape markers predicted expansion. #CodeICH onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

Super important ARCADIA post hoc! LV dysfunction is a treatment effect modifier of DOACs for #stroke prevention. (ie DOAC benefits only in ESUS with LV dysfunction) @StrokeAHA_ASA @StrokeAHA_ASA ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/…

Despite #stroke having a huge societal burden in #Italy, it is disproportionately underfunded, with few Italian stroke researchers working in their country. @caso_valeria @FishingNeurons @m_paciaroni @demchuk_andrew @ESOstroke @WorldStrokeOrg link.springer.com/article/10…

I know you probably know all this without a meta-analysis to tell you... This hot off the press metananlysis of all rFVIIa RCTs shows a significant reduction in ICH volume at 24 hours No effect of functional outcome or mortality. Most interesting: No increase in thromboembolic SAEs. jnnp.bmj.com/content/early/2…

I think we can all agree that the "CTA-for-All" concept, which was originally published in Stroke in 2020, has WON and is now (thank goodness) the standard of care. For SO many reasons. I just came across this nice opinion piece that articulates the benefits of getting CTA data right off the bat when the NCCT shows blood. Not the least of which: a (+) a spot sign on a hyperacute scan (<2 hours) means very high risk for active bleeding. A (+) spot when the baseline scan is performed after 3 hours from onset it doesn't mean nearly as much. Like an infiltrate on a CXR -- a radiographic sign that lingers. To say nothing about CTA diagnosing weird DAVFs, AVMs, and the like. CT Angiography-for-All: Beyond “Diagnostic Nihilism” in Acute #ICH – A Personal View #CodeICH karger.com/ced/article-abstr…
