Abdul has got egg on his face yet again.
Cenk Uygur’s Rebellion PAC just dropped an ad for Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan claiming a dozen eggs costs $7 so you have to “set that aside for killing Palestinians.”
Walk into a Lansing Meijer, Kroger, Aldi, or Walmart. A dozen Grade A Large Cage-Free eggs is $1.69. A 24-count twin-pack is $3.19. Four dozen costs less than the ad’s fake number.
The $7 figure is a 19-month-old fossil from EggPrices.org’s Michigan tracker (last updated 3/27/2025). It only scraped Target. When cheap store-brand cartons sold out during the March 2025 avian flu peak, the script logged $7 specialty pasture-raised eggs and called that the “average.”
That scraper has been dead since then. The site’s national tab is broken the other way. US laying flocks are back over 319 million hens, wholesale eggs are under 30 cents a dozen, and Midwest retail has stayed under $2 all year.
Quoting a dead Target scrape from the height of the bird flu shortage and blaming Israel for the price isn’t a policy argument. It’s either an ad team too lazy to check a timestamp or a cynical bet that Michigan voters don’t look at their own grocery receipts.
New @RebellionPac ad dropping in Michigan. We have to suffer here at home, so Israel can get all its wars. That’s why they buy politicians like Mike Rogers. He promised to serve Israel “unconditionally,” but never made that promise to you.
