The Framers of the Constitution understood our freedom depended on our strength at sea.
That is why generations of Sailors have answered the call to protect our nation on the deck, beneath the waves, and in the skies above.

FT2 David Baker and his teammates aboard USS Pasadena helped demonstrate a way to launch an underwater robot from a torpedo tube.
One option required a communications modification that typically costs about $200,000 per submarine.
Instead, Sailors worked with shore maintenance teams and Blueye Robotics to develop a 3D-printed waterproof housing and wiring system that kept the robot connected to its controller.
The Navy already owned the ROV. The additional materials and labor cost less than $1,000.
They tested it successfully, demonstrating a potentially affordable way to conduct underwater searches and inspections. More work remains on qualifications and integration.
We’ve got people who can figure this stuff out. Let’s give them room to do it.

Delivering on historic investment. Modernizing our infrastructure.
The @USNavy awarded $271M in @USCG funds for major cutter homeport facilities at Naval Station Newport, RI – infrastructure improvements to support a modernized Coast Guard fleet for vital missions.
The project is funded in part by the historic investment in the Coast Guard provided by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act – the largest capital investment in the Service’s history. Of the nearly $25B appropriated under OBBBA, the Service has ordered approximately $20B in assets, capability, and infrastructure.

A new day begins and the mission continues.
#CVN73 continues flight operations while deployed in the @US5thFleet area of operations.
A Navy career doesn’t look like just one thing.
It starts with a bus, a seabag, and arriving at RTC where your name suddenly becomes "Recruit."
It runs through your first command, the first watch you stand alone, and the pride of hearing someone address you by your rate for the first time.
Then the momentum builds: qualifying, pinning on warfare badges, evals, selection boards. With every advancement, more of the Navy’s mission rests in your hands.
And when it comes full circle, it concludes with a final salute and a generation of Sailors who learned the standard from you.
251 years of history isn’t found in archives; it’s lived in the people behind the uniform.

Our decisive advantage is our people. Sustaining that advantage requires deliberate investment in our Sailors and the development of cohesive, resilient, and lethal teams.
That is why today we are launching the Total Sailor: Fit to Fight Playbook.
A Total Sailor is strong in Mind, Body, and Spirit. These three elements form the foundation of a Sailor who can operate in uncertainty, overcome challenges, and perform when the nation calls.
This is not another program or checklist. It is our framework for deliberately developing Sailors who are ready to perform when our Nation needs them most.
