Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt debate whether Antonio Conte would be the right manager to shake up Manchester United, despite his volatile nature and short term appeal
Paul Scholes🎙️: Antonio Conte is a mile ahead of all of them. You think Juventus, he went to Napoli and Napoli was going and wins the league with them. Look, he's volatile, I know I know he's volatile, and he he might be a bit of a madman, but when you talk about successful managers at top clubs, he's streets ahead. I think it will get us back to where we need to be, but I think it's short term
Nicky Butt🎙️: So, employment? It's short term, but...
Paul Scholes🎙️: I don't care if it's short term. I think he'd be there 18 months and gone
Nicky Butt🎙️: The Man United is not set up to deal with a manager like that, right?
Paul Scholes🎙️: I don't care if he's there for 18 months and he does get us to challenge for the league.
Nicky Butt🎙️: I don't think the club are ready for a manager like that. The people at the top, I don't think will accept a manager like that, I don't think they want a manager like that
Paul Scholes🎙️: Nicky, I feel like totally the opposite.
Nicky🎙️: I'm not saying that's how I feel, I mean that's how they feel. If I'm thinking what they are looking at, they want a nice easy ride
Scholes🎙️: Which is what Michael is.
Nicky🎙️: But that's what they're going to go for.
Scholes🎙️ : They need someone to come and shake the club up. Antonio Conte will shake the club up massively. Players' side, business side, managing upwards, whatever it is, he will shake the full place up, Nick.
Paul Pogba knew what he was talking about when he told IShowSpeed that no player will ever replicate Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2008 season.
Today: Ballon d’Or announce Cristiano Ronaldo 2008 has been voted as the BEST BALLON D’OR OF ALL TIME. 🐐
Calling Fofana a 'flop' after that is harsh. He didn't play badly at all, it's just a shame he was among the three who missed their penalties
This Liverpool win makes Saturday's game tantalising. I'm hoping to see proper football from United against Chelsea.
This INEOS regime must be spending a fortune on PR. What's all this talk about Bruno feeling 'at his very best' after a chat with Carrick? 😂

Just 10 days ago, Michael Carrick was praising Manchester United's training sessions. I said we will see a different team against Como and Bournemouth. What went wrong?

What a guy! A great player for United, certainly, but he must have held a meeting with the club's ex-players over the summer asking them to go easy on him. Everyone seems eager to deflect blame away from him even though his United side sits just a single point above the relegation zone.
Perhaps the upcoming Chelsea fixture will mark the turnaround. I, for one, look forward to seeing the team fight for every ball and show genuine intent to progress possession
🚨 - NEW:
There is also the consideration that the international break in less than a fortnight’s time would allow any new head coach at Manchester United the chance to bed in better than now.

It’s easy to blame the squad and let Carrick off the hook but I completely disagree with that narrative
We all want a club legend to succeed but it’s becoming really hard to see how he turns this around. Hearing recent comments from key figures like Martínez and Fernandes about his coaching, paired with Wilcox’s clear incompetence, leaves a lot to be desired.
Keeping faith feels like a massive gamble right now one that I'm just not sure is going to pay off.
The main issue isn't simply buying cheap players, it's buying players whose profiles don't fit the manager's system. How this isn't grounds to relieve Wilcox of his duties is just another embarrassment of the INEOS era.
