VERSIONS: this hairy (publisher rhetoric) monster has arisen at #OAWeek2021 discussion. We need to take a step back. The VAST majority of readers of an article (think public, students etc) don't need the VoR - the AAM is close enough. You only need VoR for specific citations.

Important to educate everyone about good research practices and how they can assess academic research and what version is being viewed. Critical importance of permanent identifiers especially DOIs - Prue Torrance on #OAWeek2021 @openaccess_anz panel

LANGUAGE matters. The issue of confusion around terminology has arisen at @openaccess_anz event today & as @MissEmilieLib has pointed out (in the chat) that if this is holding up policy for making OA fairer then it is urgent and especially relevant to this year's #OAWeek2021
The week we have all been waiting for is finally here #OAWeek2021 !! You don't want to miss our first session of the week - if you haven't already, register now - oaaustralasia.org/events/oa-…

Love the idea from #OAWeek insightful @petersuber for Open Access you can "... become the expert you are waiting for...". #openaccessweek @au_press And a highlight on confederated open access repositories for equity.
It was a privilege to interview @petersuber about #OAweek2021 and it's important message - "It Matters How We Open Knowledge: Building Structural Equity". Enjoy the many gems in the @utslibrary podcast: player.whooshkaa.com/episode… #OAWeek #openaccessweek @openaccess_anz @oatp
