We had a great lab meeting today discussing research from @SungaJu and @AdamGrottoli! It's been a while since we've been able to get together but virtual lab meetings let us be together in spirit #LabMeeting #VirtualMeeting #GradResearch #Bats

Happy Halloween everyone! Hope you have a batty good time!
Next time you visit @ROMtoronto, check out the fossil bats on display. The two species date to 52 mya: Onychonycteris - who could fly but not echolocate - and Icaronycteris - who could both fly and echolocate #BatWeek2020 #FossilFriday rom.on.ca/en/about-us/newsro…

Ever since I did a wildlife nutrition project in my undergrad comparing bat diets, the Honduran white bat (Ectophylla alba) has been my favourite. Who doesn’t love a bat that looks like a real life pokemon? 📸 Wanja Krah

When I’m not looking at ectos or DNA sequences, I’m probably taking pictures of bugs somewhere, throwing axes, or playing board games with friends. I’ve also taken up embroidery as my pandemic craft. Woolly bear photo tax 8/9

I am working with an archive of bat ectos collected over the last two decades. These ectos include bat bugs, wing mites, and bat fleas. I use a microscope to get a closer look at and take pictures of the ectos so that I can identify them. #Inverts #Parasitology 3/9
