Luke smirks, stealthily pouring a glass of whiskey to himself. His eyes studied the woman in front of him, her mannerisms and the way she talks.
"Say...your next shots are free if you can deal with these two jerks for me. I have a feeling you can handle yourself pretty well..."

"Well, no bartender means we don't make today's buck. But I don't miss those days, to be honest."
Luke shrugs. It's half a lie. He misses how simple things were back then. He points with his head to two guys starting an argument.
"See? Soon I'll need to kick them out too."

Luke let out a hearty laugh. This one, whoever she is, reminded him of a friend.
"Technically, I'm the owner. My days of doing this are over. But...the actual bartender is sick, so...back at serving drinks and throwing drunks away. Real super hero work." He joked.

"Easy there, Blondie." Luke raised his hands, although her gun wouldn't do anything on him anyway. He didn't want her to feel threatened.
"You look like you're fleeing from something. This building belongs to me. You're safe here. So calm down and breathe."
"I know the feeling" Luke said with a chuckle, as he cleans the counter. "Wasn't even supposed to be here today and already had to kick out two dumbasses for fighting." One of them broke his wrist trying to punch Luke. "At least it's not boring."

"Hard day, today?" Luke asks with a smile as he fills her glass, the old bartender ways taking over after so much time. While he owns the place, he rarely stays behind the bar anymore, but today he was covering for one of his employees who got sick.

"I know. But I want everyone to see we're trying the right way." It's not like he has the patience (well, he is more patient than Jessica, but that hardly counts), but things had been tense on Harlem lately and he doesn't want the situation to get worse. "Maybe I should try +

He will never, EVER, tell this to anyone, but he keeps this picture in his office. He blames Danny for the idea of taking this silly pic. Yet, he misses this team a lot.
He gently bumps his shoulder on hers, crossing his arms over his chest with a grin.
"Sometimes I need to leave the hoodie at home. I had a community meeting in Harlem. Gonna take their demands to the politicians. We can't win every battle with our fists, I guess."

Luke adjusts his finely crafted suit, pretending he wasn't aware of Jessica and her camera. Then he turns back and gives Jess a relaxed smile. The kind of smile that very few people are privy to.
"Hope I'm not a part of your latest case, P.I Jones."

She is not wrong, but it doesn't have to be this way. Not this time. Even with all of the shit that happens in the city from time to time. He tried his best to keep tabs on her, through Malcom, but he had other things keeping him out of NY.

" Of course , though the hero of Harlem undoubtedly will be busy protecting the people of this dreary city . "
Yeah. Her to-do-list is mostly about keeping track of cheating husbands and wives. It pays the bills though, he won't judge.
"I've been away from NY for a while. I'm back though, back to stay. And I'm not gonna let you be a stranger. You're one of the few people I trust, Jess."
Her comment got a nice, playful laugh, out of him. "For a P.I you're awfully outdated on your information, Jess." His face turned just a bit more serious. "It's been a while since I've seen Claire." Then he smiles. "And Danny's been traveling. Hell, I've been away for a while."
"Very smooth, Jess..." Time has passed, yet some things are still the same. Her bluntness always gets a smile out of him, though.
