Our children… Russia killed them daily, 12-year-old Artem Koval has died in a hospital in Kyiv after fighting for his life for a week. His 8-year-old sister Arina was killed instantly when the Russian drone struck in a park in the Kharkiv region. #StopRussia #StandWithUkraine

I welcome today’s Council decisions to mobilise €4.9bn for Ukraine through the European Peace Facility. This will reimburse aid and strengthen EU training and capacity building efforts. Our resolve is as strong as ever 🇪🇺🇺🇦

Russian ballistic missiles struck the grounds of a university in Kyiv and the area around it – effectively the campus, Kyoto Park, the area near a metro station, and residential buildings. The exact number of casualties is not yet known. But tragically, there are victims. There are people injured. Rescue operations are underway. There is extensive damage, and there are also reports that people may be trapped under the rubble. All emergency services are at the scene and doing their work – saving lives. The missiles hit very crowded areas, and there is not a single military facility nearby. This was a strike directly on the city, on its infrastructure. Unfortunately, there may be more strikes coming. The attack with “shaheds” is also continuing – against Kyiv and our other cities and communities. And it is precisely under such circumstances, when the threat is constant, when strikes can come at any moment and target cities and villages directly, that artificial delays in providing air defense to Ukraine help terror. It is important that political agreements be implemented promptly at the team level. It is important that our partners understand that Ukraine needs the proper tools to destroy Russian ballistic missile launchers. This would be the most effective way to save lives. It is important that the world sees that Russia is showing nothing but a desire to kill and continue waging war. Ukraine must not be left to face this alone, and it is solely Russia’s fault that the war is still going on and people are still dying. Please take care of yourselves. All partners should stand with Ukraine – with the protection of lives.

I met with the defence ministers of France, Germany, Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom in Paris today for talks on support for Ukraine, European defence and the conflicts in the Middle East. There is a new diplomatic push for peace in Ukraine, but Putin's actions tell a different story. In recent days, Russia has again launched heavy attacks on Kyiv and sunk civilian ships in the Black Sea. There is little hope for imminent peace in Ukraine. Our task is to help Ukraine withstand the attacks and increase the costs for Russia. This month, the EU has adopted the largest sanctions listings against Russia since the war started, and more are in the works.

And then some facts: More than 90 % of the Russian soldiers in Ukraine are contract soldiers. Their average age is almost 40. I had one Tesla before this guy went batshit crazy. Never again.

Ukrainian Nobel laureate Matviichuk: Russian occupiers abducted a woman for her pro-Ukrainian views. They tortured her and gang-raped her multiple times. Then they took her to Russia and fabricated criminal charges against her. I met her five-year-old daughter. She hugged me, started crying and begged: "Please return my mom." I'm a human rights lawyer, but I have no legal tools to force Russia to return her mother. I felt broken. I hugged her and promised we'd fight for her mother until she returned home.

📢“Eyes on Oleshky” - the central message echoed during a rally in support of the residents of Oleshky, a town in Ukraine’s Kherson region under temporary Russian occupation. The rally was organised by the Ukrainian Crisis Centre in Ireland and took place in Dublin on 25 October, with representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine among the participants. The Russian occupation has led to a critical humanitarian situation in Oleshky, putting the lives and safety of local residents at serious risk. People continue to endure extremely difficult conditions, urgently needing humanitarian assistance and the opportunity for safe evacuation. The rally served as an important reminder of the need to maintain international attention on the plight of Oleshky’s residents, ensure unhindered access for humanitarian missions, and urgently address the humanitarian challenges caused by the Russian occupation. The Embassy of Ukraine to Ireland extends its gratitude to the organisers, our Irish friends, and everyone who took part in the rally for their solidarity, concern for the people of Oleshky, and unwavering support for Ukraine.

russian soldiers, like any other terrorists, had a choice not to take part in terror. Ukrainians had no choice about being invaded. Yet somehow, @elonmusk , your sympathy is reserved for the Russian “kids” who came to kill, rather than the Ukrainian kids they came to kill.

The endless slaughter of Ukrainian and Russians must stop. We should some sympathy for the poor Russian conscripts too. Those kids have no choice but to fight and die in drone strikes.

I knew he was a comedian before he became President but the vicious toll of bravely defending his country against inhumane Russian aggression seemed to throttle him .This , however , is a brilliant retort to the so called Putin the ‘great humanist’ , who hasn’t an ounce of humanity in him . Bravo @ZelenskyyUa . #SlavaUkraïni .
⚡️️️️️️️Zelensky 'maybe not such a big humanitarian as Putin,' he quips as Ukraine's relations with Trump unravel. The president made the comment to ABC News two days after U.S. Envoy Steve Witkoff praised Vladimir Putin as "a humanitarian." kyivindependent.com/zelensky…

How can there ever be a just peace with Russia. This how #Putin responds to diplomacy, more murderous attacks on civilians and children @ZelenskyyUa @UkraineIreland @DefenceU
This past week alone, Russia has launched around 1,600 guided aerial bombs, 48 missiles of various types, including ballistic missiles, and nearly 2,300 attack drones against Ukraine. Unfortunately, almost every day, these brutal strikes leave people killed and injured. In the evening, Russian strikes on the Dnipro region killed four people. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 22 people were injured, including an 11-year-old girl. In Vinnytsia, a Russian drone struck a high-rise apartment building. Six people were injured. In Kharkiv, the Russians first struck a home improvement hypermarket and then carried out a cynical double-tap strike on the emergency services that arrived at the scene. First responders were injured. There were also strikes overnight on a thermal power plant, substations, coal mines, grain storage facilities, shopping malls, and a postal logistics hub. Damage has been reported in nine regions. This is how Russia responds to diplomacy and deisolation. And it is very important that support for those who protect lives not diminish alongside the negotiation process. We need to unblock the deliveries of Patriot interceptors already approved by European countries. We need to continue supporting Ukrainian combat aviation to defend against jet-powered “shaheds.” Every such defense package, especially ahead of winter, helps save lives. I thank all partners who provide this kind of support.

Elon Musk claims Hitler was a far-left socialist because the Nazi Party had "socialist" in its name. By that logic, North Korea is a democracy because its official name is the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Hitler was a far-right fascist who imprisoned and murdered socialists, communists and trade unionists. He banned left-wing parties, destroyed independent unions and worked with German industrialists. The Nazis used the word "socialist" as propaganda, partly because socialism and communism were popular among German workers at the time, and they wanted to attract those voters. Welfare queen Elon thinks political ideology is determined by branding.

It used to be about "NATO expansion" and "nazis". Now it's "they are historical Russian lands" But the past changes so quickly that you can have no idea what will happen yesterday.

On October 24, the UN turns 81. One of the five countries in charge of keeping world peace is waging the largest war in Europe since 1945. And it can veto any attempt to stop it. 🧵1/6
