Finally a competent decision, even though this kid should’ve never been here in the first place. A very good talent, I just hope he can keep that belief he is good enough to be in the league. Then again our track record with development in the kids, Yikes!😬 #GoPies
NGA Graduate and rookie listed small forward Jai Saxena has penned a one-year contract ✍️
Saxena played 17 games at VFL level for the Pies in 2026, scoring a total of 24 goals.

"Richmond as it stands right now is not keen to deal with Collingwood on Jayden Short. They believe Craig McRae has been working behind the scenes on Short during the season. If Short wants to leave, another club might need to come to the table or Collingwood needs to offer up a first round selection."

Richmond is keen on pick 28 for Jayden Short, which is the Pies second-rounder. Collingwood seems very unwilling to hand over that selection. Collingwood's next pick is 65. That can change but Short has plenty of football left at 30. Seems like there is very little point to trade him for a throw-away pick. He was still seventh in the b-and-f. Both clubs a fair way apart

If Riccardi find a new club and it ain’t the Pies then I’m gonna have to say a few words, no one in their right mind can tell me Membrey is better than this guy and there is no talk around him. Would arrive so cheaply and our forward line would certainly improve. If you are serious about winning now then get this player in your club! #GoPies
Basically a Cox like. Only issue is that he doesn’t have the AFL fitness and one preseason can only do so much. If we make him a centre bounce ruck with some time as a decoy forward that should be doable after one preseason with the potential of doing more in future years.
