Restrictions have been lifted, but that doesn't mean the pandemic is over. As cases and hospitalizations rise, it's more important than ever to get vaccinated and protect our community.

Happy #NationalNursesMonth! This week focuses on recognizing the critical work that nurses do and the sacrifices they make to serve our communities. These frontline heroes have worked tirelessly to bring us through the pandemic, and they deserve all the recognition in the world.
You've probably heard that the COVID vaccine doesn't prevent you from getting the infection; it just keeps you from getting sick, which means you can still spread it to those around you. When the vaccines were first released, we didn't know how true this was.
Now, as we study their impact in the real world, evidence shows that the mRNA vaccines reduce the risk of infection by 75-90% (no infection means no transmission). Most vaccinated people who do become infected will be significantly less contagious due to a smaller viral load.
It's still important to follow CDC guidelines on masks and social distancing, but it's also important to know exactly what these vaccines can do! They have exceeded expectations, and that deserves to be celebrated 🙌
