I spent 22 years as a far-Left activist, until l suddenly realized we were being used. We were manipulated and weaponized against our own country. 40 years of information warfare, and now this is the explosion. #france #usapolitics

California cities look like dystopian nightmares.
officially moving our office out of downtown SF after 12 months on Market Street. a space that incubated over 100 startups just a few years ago is down to fewer than 10 teams today. the physical reality of working here took a heavy toll. getting chased down the sidewalk by an aggressive bulldog. a close friend rushed to urgent care with severe bite wounds after another attack. 20+ street dog encounters, shattered car glass on every block, and another friend struck in the head by a stranger while standing in line for dinner. startups require total obsession with product and execution. a team cannot build the future when everyday survival consumes half their focus between the transit stop and the front door. San Francisco is still home, and we are relocating to a neighborhood where people can walk to lunch without fearing for their physical safety.

To those of you living in free countries, watching the images coming out of Europe, Canada, and America, I feel there's an experience I need to share. Because today's news to you reminds us of a catastrophe we've been paying for for decades. I'm Iranian. 47 years ago, Iran was rich in natural resources, with an educated workforce and rapid development. Living conditions were improving. Women participated freely in public and political life. Iran helped maintain regional security, commanded international respect, and was a model for developing countries. Then, an Islamist ideology arrived disguised as justice for the oppressed. Islamists, communists, and the radical left formed a deadly alliance and took power. Then, the Islamists crushed their former allies. The regime imposed Sharia law, stripped away freedoms, and survived through imprisonment, torture, and execution. A country with enormous potential fell into corruption, economic crisis, and mass emigration. Today, it's known as the world's leading sponsor of terrorism. From the start, the regime openly declared its ambition to export its dark ideology, a threat your governments didn't take seriously. For about 30 years, generations born after the revolution have repeatedly risen up to take their country back. While we paid with imprisonment, torture, and massacres, your government signed political and economic deals with our oppressors. The regime expanded its networks of influence and propaganda. Today, you see the results in your cities. Movements like the pro-Palestine movement and socialist Islamists claiming to defend the oppressed while spreading hatred and destruction. I'm Iranian and I'm speaking directly to you. Don't let Islamists use your freedom of speech, your tolerance, and your democratic rights to gain power and then take those freedoms away. We've paid the price for their promises. Stand with the people still fighting to end this regime. Don't let what happened to us become your future.

How is this not a tantrum? What is the government supposed to do about these issues? How does stopping the economy and burning cities help?
BREAKING: Hundreds of thousands of protesters flood the streets across France as a nationwide general strike intensifies, with authorities expecting as many as 700,000 demonstrators at roughly 220 protests today. The demonstrations, initially driven by students demanding better school conditions, have expanded into widespread protests over rising living costs, low wages and government budget cuts. France has deployed up to 70,000 police officers nationwide to prevent a repeat of the violence seen in recent weeks, while the U.S. Embassy warns American travelers to remain alert. The rise of the Moderates
We can all do the math. So here it is from @ThirdWayTweet and @TheWelcomeTeam. Dems can model the overperformers or the underperformers. How are we seriously debating this?? Call me crazy but I want to win big again in 2028.

Every word.
We're in a new era of communication, and only one side seems to be living in it. The old guard consultant class is about to be relegated to the dustbin of history. If you think that high prices lost the election for the right, you don't understand marketing. Humans have no problem paying a premium for a good quality brand. Notice the word "brand", not "product". Are Nikes better than New Balance? Nope. But the brand is better. And notice what happened when they tinkered with the brand and screwed their core narrative? Nike stock fell through the basement. Did the product change? Nope. The brand did. It's not the product, it's the brand. Results don't sell the product, the storytelling does. Will these newly-elected commies lower prices? Of course not. Are they gonna get you free healthcare? No, your insurance is gonna get even worse, just like it did the last time they tried socialized medicine. They're not going to do anything they've sold you, but...like Saul Goodman said: if you're committed enough, you can make any story work. The committed storytelling of a couple insane podcasters was enough to fracture an entire political coalition from their own side in less than 2 years...they have zero power, zero credibility, they've never actually governed anything nor produced any results, but...they're good storytellers, and that's all that matters. Are they telling a good story? No, it's atrocious, but they're telling their atrocious story effectively and compellingly. It is 100% true that everything's too damn expensive, and we all know that inflated prices are always sticky. Does anyone know that it's entirely the result of shutting down the global economy over the flu and (both naive republicans and democrats) printing infinity dollars for several years? Nope...because nobody has effectively told that story, and it's an unsexy story to tell. "Free stuff!" is a VERY easy story to tell, and when everyone's gotta take out a second mortgage just to pay their insurance premiums, "free healthcare" is an unbeatable story. It doesn't matter that "free healthcare" doesn't exist and socialized medicine is a terrible product...it's not the product, it's the brand. And "FREE!" is a great brand. You can't get mad at people for having the financial literacy of a 9 year old. I mean, you can, but they outnumber you a million to one, so it's not going to be productive. You need to figure out how to make an unsexy story sexy, or else the "free stuff!" crowd is going to eat your lunch every time. If you give people a choice between earning a six pack on a treadmill or taking Ozempic, they're gonna choose Ozempic...they don't care about the side effects. If you give people a choice between fiscal discipline or free stuff...guess what they'll pick? They don't care about the side effects. With projected growth of 5%, the economy right now is stronger than it's been in generations. Is that the story you hear? Nope. Is that the vibe you feel? Absolutely not, especially when every time you fill up your gas tank, it feels like a diesel enema. It's not the product, it's the brand. A great product can fall into oblivion with bad messaging...a single bad review from one effective storyteller can tank a restaurant. The "influencer economy" is lucrative for a reason; everybody inherently understands the importance of effective storytelling...except the right. Zohran Mamdani gets it...he has an army of influencers on staff. In a perfect metaphor of this transitional phase of old guard vs new wave political messaging, Zohran nuked the Vice President into oblivion with maybe the biggest ratio in the history of the internet. By simply posting the subway assistant meme, Mamdani got 2 MILLION likes, quoting a post from the VP that had only 10K likes. If you're reading that sentence thinking "this is fucking ridiculous, you're talking about social media likes as political analysis now?"...you are the problem. Yes, this stuff matters. Rizz matters. The President did a masterful job of this kind of retail politics in his historic 2024 campaign...you can be angry that this is what politics has been reduced to, but you can either adapt or die. "No the problem is, you didn't deliver enough for the American people!" Are you a moron? Since when does anybody care about that? What have democrats delivered for Californians in the last 20 years? Unmitigated wildfires, homeless drug zombies everywhere, roads that look like Fallujah in 2004...people don't care about results. They think they care about results. That want you to believe they care about results, just as Nike wants you to believe their shoes are better than New Balance...but at the end of the day, all people really care about is the swoosh. Adapt or die.

JD Vance is sus
JD Vance grew the opposition to the Iran War, pushed POTUS to stall and negotiate with the Iranians, which failed, leaked everything to his best friend Tucker Carlson, and is now backstabbing the President for starting the war, which JD Vance initially said was the right move.

My wife has taught high school in Tokyo for twenty years. Every year, a few of her students spend a year living with a family in America. When they come home, she asks each of them one question. "What do you miss?" She expects hamburgers. She almost never gets hamburgers. And these aren't old stories. Most of these kids came home in the last two years. "Every time I left the house, my host mom said, 'Text me when you get there.' In Japan, nobody needs to know where I am. In Ohio, somebody always did." (Mina, 17, Ohio) "If you walk toward a door, an American will hold it open. Even if you are very far away. So you have to run. I ran to so many doors." (Itsuki, 16, Georgia) "My host brother screamed on the floor of a grocery store. A stranger walked by and said to my host mom, 'You're doing great, Mama.' She almost cried. I didn't know strangers were allowed to say that." (Aoi, 17, Texas) "We went away for the weekend and left our trash can at the curb. When we got back, it was by the garage. Nobody said who. My host dad said if it had been there one more day, the neighbor would have knocked." (Haruto, 16, Minnesota) "A car got stuck in the snow in front of our house. Four men came out of four houses. Nobody called them. They pushed, the car drove away, and they went back inside without saying their names." (Ren, 17, Michigan) "Every American has jumper cables. Maybe half of them know which clip goes where. The other half help anyway." (Shin, 16, Montana) "In July, my host family put a cooler on the porch. Cold water, snacks, and a sign: 'For our delivery drivers. Thank you!' I asked if they knew the drivers. They said no." (Nanami, 16, Arizona) "Downtown, there are banners on the lampposts. Photos of soldiers from the town. Some old, some very young. My host grandpa walked me down the street and told me every name." (Yuna, 16, Iowa) "I got a C-plus on my first test. My host dad said, 'I'm proud of you,' and put it on the fridge. In Japan, nobody is proud of a C-plus." (Takeru, 17, Pennsylvania) Then the quietest girl in the class raised her hand. Sora. Seventeen. Missouri. "Nobody asks me 'home safe?' anymore," she said. She was wrong. In September, there was a typhoon warning for Tokyo. At 2 a.m., Sora's phone lit up. It was her host mom. In Missouri. Watching the weather in a country she had never been to. "Saw the storm. You home safe?" Sora told my wife she cried for a long time. Then she typed the answer she had typed a hundred times, from football games and friends' driveways. "Home safe." Her host mom wrote back one line. "Good. That's all I needed." My wife has asked that question for twenty years. Not one kid has ever said they missed how big America is. They miss how America says goodbye. And how it checks that you got home. So, America. You think you've lost something. You haven't. It's on a porch in Arizona. It's pushing a car in Michigan. It's awake at 2 a.m. in Missouri, watching our weather. You don't remember doing any of it. A kid in Tokyo will never forget.

Yes, the Iran war is unpopular. No, “changing our relationship to Israel” isn't among Republicans' top voting priorities. Not even close. With respect to VP Vance, he and his pollster need to spend less time on X
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

This is probably the worst result of the night. Newly elected Democratic congressman Adam Hamawy was a close associate of Omar Abdel Rahman - the “Blind Sheikh” sentenced to life in prison for his role inspiring the 1993 Wold Trade Center bombing. Abdel-Rahman issued a fatwa in the US that declared it lawful to rob banks and kill Jews in the US. His sermons condemned Americans as the "descendants of apes and pigs'' and called on Muslims to assail the West, ''kill them on the sea, air, or land.'' Adam Hamawy travelled with the Blind Sheikh to a conference in Detroit in 1991 titled "Towards a Global Islamic Economy.” He ultimately testified in court for the Blind Sheikh to try defend him. A secret FBI informant said that Hamawy discussed making bombs with the Blind Sheikh and "conquering the land of the infidels.”

Iranian-born Canadian activist Parishad Kavyani, who spent more than two years marching in support of Palestine, has publicly broken with the movement, accusing former allies of hypocrisy, discrimination and selectively defending human rights. Kavyani said she had experienced more homophobia, racism and sexism from left-wing activists over the past nine months than ever before. Kavyani, who grew up under Iran's Islamic Republic before moving to Canada at 14, criticized pro-Palestine activists for advocating women's rights while remaining silent about Iranian women fighting against compulsory hijab laws and other restrictions imposed by Tehran. She also accused some activists of defending the Iranian regime and sharing material supportive of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Kavyani said Hamas's October 7, 2023, attack on Israel was a turning point, explaining that she could not support the killing, rape, torture or hostage-taking of civilians simply because they were Israeli. She argued that human rights should apply equally to everyone, regardless of nationality or political beliefs, and accused parts of the movement of prioritizing ideology over protecting innocent people.

Our life in the US has gotten so much better over the past 30 years. If we truly cared about progress and human rights we'd support the US freeing Venezuela from Maduro. We'd protest for women of Afghanistan and the Middle East, or poverty in Cuba. They are actually suffering.
