ALT INCLUDEnyc Mgmt email Tuesday 3/7 : As you have requested management be prepared to negotiate salaries at the next bargaining session, we suggest the 3/9 session be rescheduled to 3/16. We are available to meet from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. that day. Counter proposals will be sent ahead of the session.

ALT Union INCLUDEd response 3/7: We also thank you for sending us the counters in advance of the session. To help us coordinate amongst ourselves so that we can review them and likewise come fully prepared to negotiate, how far in advance of the session do you anticipate being able to send the counters? We are confident that with one or two more extended sessions, we will be able to come to a full agreement that we can put up for a vote before the unit.

ALT To truly be aligned with its values, it's time for INCLUDEnyc to stop undervaluing us. The organization has to pay fair salaries and hold itself to a better standard in nonprofit compensation that doesn't operate under outdated practices for paying low wages. INCLUDEnyc has to acknowledge the extraordinary worth we bring to our work and the economic realities of what it means for us to work and live in NYC. We must be compensated fairly for our unwavering commitment to the mission and continued excellence in our work. - Robert Carabay

ALT Non-profit workers across the nation have unionized over the past few years because it's time for the industry to stop exploiting our idealism. UNION INCLUDEd members are committed to our work; we don’t want to leave this organization simply because we cannot meet our own basic needs. That’s why we are asking for FAIR PAY. On a broad scale, INCLUDEnyc is uniquely positioned to be at the forefront of this long overdue shift in the industry, uniquely positioned to be a guide post for other non-profit organizations who choose to value the worth and expertise of their people. Do the right thing.--Maggie Downham

ALT All workers deserve to have a voice at the table to shape what a dignified job and experience looks like for them. When workers are living well, that's how the workplace thrives too. Management working with Union INCLUDEd to commit to higher pay in this contract will lead to this result in our collective working conditions. -Pia Fouilloux

ALT We all know turnover and a slow hiring process are major issues at INCLUDEnyc. Management committing to higher pay in this union contract will result in greater morale, retention, and improve hiring outcomes. Committing to Fair Pay will help INCLUDE stand apart from the nonprofit industry labor challenge of low pay leading to high turnover.- Yulissa Garcia

ALT As a fairly new employee at INCLUDEnyc, it is difficult for me to see what my future will look like within the organization. There is currently no clear pathway for promotion, an astounding number of employees have left in the short time I have been here, and the employees that still remain, continue to feel unappreciated and undervalued. I love the work that we do and would love to continue learning from my peers in an equitable and progressive environment. -Issamar Lopez

ALT It didn't take me long to come to the realization that I am making less than when I started at INCLUDEnyc. I absolutely love working for a mission-driven organization, but it also pains me to see that the high costs of living and extreme inflation have put a bigger dent on each and every paycheck. A livable wage would allow me and my amazing colleagues to continue to do the great work we do everyday, boost organization morale, reduce staff turnover and most of all give our families the highest quality service. When staff have to worry about how to make ends meet, we can't always give 100% to our families without the imminent risk of burnout. -Kylie Balogh

ALT INCLUDEnyc has a real opportunity to embody equity in the workplace by committing to higher pay in this first contract with Union INCLUDEd. Too many of our union members live paycheck to paycheck and/or took major pay cuts to work at INCLUDEnyc. We can’t live on our commitment to doing the work that makes INCLUDE an amazing pillar for disability communities. We deserve higher pay in line with the highly specialized work we do and NYC cost of living. - Colin Montgomery
