People have been saying this all along. Its quite obvious. Water is disrupted. Next thing the tankers are in your areas in no time. They like those tow trucker vultures, just waiting to pounce. There is definitely a correlation between water disruptions and water tankers. These contracts must be terminated.

Looks like the IEC is starting off on a bad footing. Even if the boxes were empty, that should not have happened. I just hope that the IEC and the police have planned this well.

IEC needs to be transparent to avoid people getting suspicious. Surely it's in a guarded & secure location, they can disclose that.

Go and read their founding docs and manifesto. They were socialist/communist. They have changed over the years, but the real ANC was socialist. The one you see now is not the real ANC. It's a version that has been shaped by the elites. If they not socialist, how would you describe them?

How will boycotting the elections help? They must just go and vote for other parties.

The Mayor for not getting things done. BUT the majority of issues all fall under the power, water, and other entities that deliver the actual services. And this is where the crux of the problems are. Most of these entities are failing. They are incompetent, have poor management/leadership, corrupt tenders, lack of expertise, etc. These entities need to be cleaned up. Without fixing those entities, things will continue as they are.

You have to also blame the other parties for not being able to run effective campaigns. If one studies how Lula won the election in Brazil, you will find that it was about mobilisation. His team and supporters came up with innovative ways to overcome algorithms and other obstacles. The opposition had Trump, Musk, Meta and other big social media companies on their side, but Lula's team still managed to overcome all that.

All these services need to brought in-house. And waste management should be declared an essential service. Same with City Power and Joburg Water. But the unions also need to start becoming more professional. The unions must be held accountable for any disruption that they instigate.

You can be a likeable leader and be good at the same time. Look at Zohran Mamdani. He is a good leader and can get his team to deliver. The DA needs to figure out how to get people on their side.

The ANC and the DA are like oil & water. The real ANC is socialist, the DA is capitalist. The ANC has Cosatu and the SACP as allies (workers unions) , the DA does not. The ANC is pro Palestine, the DA is Pro Israel. The ANC has a struggle history, the DA does not. At some stage, the ANC will have to be part of a left socialist block. The DA can form their own block on the right. The GNU needs to be disolved and the ANC and the DA need to go their separate ways. This mixture of 'oil & water' is not what South Africa needs.

They needed to win a Metro or Province first. Without having real experience, its difficult to judge whether the EFF can govern.

Anoda can stay for 90 days + another 90 days. She is a football ambassador and she is a Pirates fan. She can watch many more Pirates games and other PSL games. She can also visit some of the beautiful places in South Africa.

Someone in the ANC really needs to vet what some of the leaders say. South Africa is actually in the top 30 of DRIEST countries in the world. Our rainfall is very low. If you look a a country like Japan, they receive about 4 times our rainfall, but if you visit a city like Tokyo that gets a LOT Of rain, you will struggle to find a single pothole in the city. You will also struggle to find a single traffic light that is not working and also struggle to find a single street light that is not working. Even in heavy rainfall and typhoons, everything works. Unfortunately in South Africa, its all about incompetence, poor design, poor maintenance, vandalism, etc. and all this goes back to Government. We just do not have the type of Government (local, provincial and national) that can fix these issues.

African football needs to pay attention to what is happening in South Africa! 馃嚳馃嚘 The Soweto Derby, a sold-out FNB Stadium, Thierry Henry in attendance and thousands of passionate supporters turning up for their local league. This is what building a football culture looks like!
