The algorithm shows men one reality and women another. Now everybody is moving based on what they see. We’re living in two different worlds, thinking we understand each other.

As a producer, it’s very important you don’t let your career be dependent on one artist. Imagine the artist doesn’t have a hit song in a year… automatically you don’t 🤷♂️

I think we’ve discussed everything, every problem that needs to be discussed in the process of making music, but the producers/recording engineers who don’t pay attention to detail while recording a song…
Carelessness in recording is, in fact, a huge problem with us.
As producers/engineers, we love to blame the artist, the room, plugins, the room, execs.
But if we’re honest? We can all save one another with a bit of discipline.
How many times have you watched out for noise while you’re recording, or mic placement, or have done multiple takes because it’s not there yet? But yes, blame everyone else.
They say mixing starts when you hit record. I.e., half of the “mix issues” we complain about started the moment we hit record.
A bad recording cannot be saved by a good mix. The way I see it, if a song is destined to be at 💯 and the recording is bad, there’s a huge chance you’ve impacted the quality of that song forever. It may never live up to 💯 percent.
We know better, or we’re supposed to (at least).
Mic placement.
Gain staging.
Room noise.
Mouth clicks.
Weak takes.
Clipping.
We ignore them in the session and allow other engineers to fight them in the mix. No attention to detail, as long as the vibe is making you feel.
Industry sound isn’t magic.
It’s discipline at the recording stage.
We don’t need more presets.
We need more care.
