We are seeing more and more users coming to @UseCaseRadar looking for lawyers in their own cities and we are working to meet that demand. From our current lawyer directory, we already have strong representation in Lagos and the FCT (Abuja), along with lawyers in Anambra, Oyo, Enugu and a growing number from places like Abia, Kwara, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Ondo, Ogun, Delta and Niger. That’s a solid start, but coverage is still concentrated in a handful of states. Many other cities and states across Nigeria have little to no presence yet, even as search interest continues to rise. We are actively expanding the Find a Lawyer feature on the Case Radar app so our users in more locations can connect with verified local lawyers. If you practice law outside the states we already cover well or if you are in one of the under-represented states and want to be more visible, we would love to list you on our lawyer directory. Send an email to [email protected] to get started. We will guide you through the process. Let's make it easier for people across Nigeria to find a lawyer near them as Case Radar continues to pioneer legal technology in Nigeria.

The Supreme Court has decided in Agbai v. Okogbue (1991) 7 NWLR (Pt. 204) 391 that “nobody can be compelled to associate with other persons against his will". Any practice that forces membership or seizes property to enforce it is void as it violates the freedom of association.

The affected person would have a strong basis to seek remedies (injunctions, damages, and enforcement of fundamental rights) under Section 40 and related provisions, as replies to the original post noted.

UPDATE: The Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, has taken decisive steps in response to the incident, reaffirming the Command’s unwavering commitment to accountability and its zero tolerance for misconduct. No uniform is a licence to intimidate, harass, or violate the rights of any citizen. The uniform is a symbol of service, trust, and responsibility, and anyone who abuses that trust must be prepared to face the consequences. We understand the anger and concern such incidents generate, and we assure the public that no officer will be shielded from accountability if found culpable. The dignity of every citizen matters, and we remain committed to protecting the rights of the people we are sworn to serve.
It keeps getting worst 🤦

The law further protects the integrity of the voter register and the accreditation process through BVAS (Sections 9, 12 and 47). Don’t wait until election day to discover these rights. Open your Case Radar app and simply ask, “What are my rights as a voter under Nigerian law?”
