A Biography in Honour of Our Beloved Mother
27th October 1956 - 27th October 2026
Today, we gather not just to celebrate 70 years of life, but 70 years of grace, strength, love, and service. Our mother, Hajiya Aminat Abubakar, is a woman whose life tells a story of faith, hard work, and devotion to family.
Hajiya Aminat was born on 27th October 1956 in Kaiama, Kwara State, at Kuligizin Compound. She was the only child of her mother, a position that shaped her into a strong, independent, and caring woman from a very young age. Her father hailed from Yashikira, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Her educational journey began at LEA Kaiama Primary School, where she completed Primary 1 to 7. Driven by a thirst for knowledge and skill, she proceeded to Ilorin, where she obtained a certificate course at the Ilorin LGA Secretariat as a Typist. In an era when formal education and professional skills for women were not common, her achievement was remarkable. It showed foresight, discipline, and determination to be useful to herself and to society.
Hajiya Aminat got married in 1970 and has built a successful family life. As a mother, she raised five children with love, guidance, and prayers. Today, by the grace of Allah, those children have blessed her with 18 grandchildren. To see three generations gathered around one woman is one of the greatest blessings a mother can receive, and Hajiya Aminat has it.
Professionally, she worked as a Typist at the Kwara State Printing Press in Ilorin, and later at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Bompai, Kano. Her dedication, discipline, and professionalism contributed greatly to her success in the workplace.
Beyond formal employment, Hajiya Aminat is an entrepreneur engaged in general merchandise, as well as land and property trading within the FCT Municipal Area Council. Through her business activities, she has shown remarkable enterprise, determination, and resourcefulness.
Hajiya Aminat Abubakar is widely regarded as a successful wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother, professional, and businesswoman. Her life reflects hard work, resilience, and dedication to family and community.
On this beautiful occasion of her 70th birthday, we pray that Allah, the Most Merciful, grants her many more years in good health, peace of mind, and honour. May He protect her, increase her in wisdom and faith, and allow her to witness the continued success of her children and grandchildren.
Happy 70th Birthday, our dear Mama, Hajiya Aminat Abubakar. We love you deeply, and we are so proud of you.

I am very glad to learn that Team Kwara has won the highly competitive 2026 presidential school debate for a record fifth time.
I commend our pupils -- Halimoh Abdulazeez (Ilorin West), Khadija Kazeem (Offa), Omolola Ibrahim (Moro), and Samaila Daniel (Ilorin East) -- who represented the state at the national contest for their excellent performance that has sustained the momentum.
I also congratulate leaders and officials of the State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, SUBEB, the dedicated teachers who coached the team, their parents, and all other people who supported the scholars to earn the victory.
Essentially, this feat and other achievements of Kwara pupils at different fora are a reflection that the investments of our administration in the education sector for the past seven years are yielding good results. I am, indeed, encouraged to do more.
I equally congratulate Professor Sheu Raheem Adaramaja on his award as the best SUBEB Chairman in Nigeria. It is a deserving reward for his relentless efforts and dedication to the growth of basic education in our state and across the country.

In September 2026, I joined His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, ably represented by our APC Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakubu-Danladi, alongside other government functionaries, at the commissioning of a 581kWp solar mini-grid and 1.4MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Oke-Oyi, Ilorin East LGA.
This landmark project, commissioned by the Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, was executed by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) through the REF-IMAS scheme, with support from the European Union, BMZ and GIZ (NESP), providing reliable electricity to over 13,000 residents, households, schools, healthcare facilities and local businesses, including grain mills, welding shops, water facilities and cold rooms.
The figures emerging from the hub are encouraging. Since its inception, it has recorded more than 40,000 visits, with approximately 150 daily workspace users and overall traffic averaging 400 on non-event days. During major events, attendance can exceed 1,000, reflecting growing interest in the opportunities available within the facility.
