VBCPS HPE

I feel like there should be a #VBHPE teacher in EVERY category! Let's make it happen.

200 participants, 14 sessions, 1 full day. Half-Time is the best time! 2nd Annual Half-Time PD Mini Conference was a success. Glad we could welcome our colleagues from @PortsVASchools to join the fun. Thanks to @HoraceMann for feeding the crowd! @CongerCasey @leidunn_vb – at Virginia Beach, VA

Landstown Elementary Ss enjoy learning and playing outside; a little cold doesn't stop them! #GoOutside #VBHPE – at Virginia Beach, VA

Our 2nd garders swim at @VBParksRec centers around the city. But Bow Creek always makes them feel special!

Check out this great story on our VBCPS students at the @jackalopefest !vbcpsblogs.com/core/a-gnarly…

Our #VBHPE teachers are excellent in so many ways. We would love for you to share something amazing that you have witnessed a @vbschools HPE teacher do this year. It could be a great lesson, kind act, award, etc.

Excited to take our 9 middle schoolera on this VIP experience Saturday thanks to @VisitVaBch @jackalopefest and @vbschools. Here is an interview from one of our finalists. @CongerCasey @leidunn_vb wtkr.com/sports/young-virgin…

There are few people who can represent @vbschools and #VBHPE better than Tom Warren @CentervillePE1. And so proud to see Sawyer celebrated for being a #HeartHero and his @KidsHeartChall fundraising @AmericanHeartVA #HeartBall

SMART goal setting becomes 2nd nature when we start young and scaffold. My @north_landing 1st gr friends and I set a goal of 3 laps in 10 min. We decided we could get there by speed walking, jogging or 🏃🏾‍♀️. When we reached our goal early, we pushed ourselves to keep going.

We were proud to award our 9 finalists for the VBHPE + Jackalope Fit for a Lifetime VIP Contest last week! Excited to share a few highlights from these talented @vbschools students! @jackalopefest @CongerCasey @leidunn_vb

Zero bell HPE, some curriculum planning, and 8th grade HPE at @greatneckms . Such great examples of #QPE and why middle school #VBHPE is not just the bridge between elem and high, but the introduction to a lifetime of activity and wellness. @vbcpsdtal @CongerCasey @leidunn_vb

Another example of @vbschools Goal5 - Mutually Supportive Partnerships. @BaysideBulldog Ss have an amazing setting for their Field Day; @vawesleyan introduces another generation of Ss to the quality post-secondary opportunities right in their backyard. @VBTitleI @VWUmenssoccer

Scarf dancing with Kinders @Thalia_Ele . Hand eye coordination and balance all in one. #VBHPE @vbcpsdtal @PiccoliHeather @crystal_wilky @CongerCasey @leidunn_vb

Little Feet Meet on Tuesday @TallwoodLions. The opening ceremonies were such a joy! It's wonderful the support that our students receive from their older peers as well as the community. @vbcpsdtal @SOlympicsVA @CongerCasey @leidunn_vb

Anatomy and Sports Injury at @BHSMarlins with @MrsFosterHPE. So much content covered, everyone is engaged. Best way to end my school visits whis week. FYI HS Ss like stickers too (the sticker on his nose is for having all of his work done. 😉) #VBHPE @vbcpsdtal @CongerCasey

Partners for Safe Teen Driving Seminar this evening for our @vbschools families. Thanks for hosting @BHSMarlins. @CongerCasey @leidunn_vb @vbcpsdtal

Foot striking drills w/ @paeseagulls this morning. @SandersCB3 always runs an exemplary program; particularly like that he includes quality formative assessment and debrief for every lesson. #VBHPE @CongerCasey @leidunn_vb @vbcpsdtal

Proud of @TallwoodLions Alex and Tyler for being our first 2 Ss to take and pass the @NASM Certified Personal Trainer exam in school, thanks in large part to the support of their teacher Mr. Richardson. Shows the quality HPE being taught in VB. #FutureReady @vbschools @vbcpsdtal
